What the....! Anyone know anything? Will he stay on with the Waratahs (w/out Wallabie contract) or a return to glorified touch football??? The Broncos could use him at the moment.

He always seemed pretty convincing as far as wanting to stay in rugby- but then again Cristiano Ronaldo convinced Man U fans of the same. Maybe David Gallop called in a favour to deflect some attention away from the NRL. Once a leaguie always a leaguie I suppose.

And there goes the last remaining publicity the ARU had.
Will he appear on TV in a few weeks promoting the next Wallabies match?

Not too worried about this. Gives more funds for the ARU to spend on better players.
I think he might go overseas to play union, but he could stay in Australia to play league.
BTW Can you league people leave the BS out of this and stick to the topic. This isn't a union vs league thread - get over it, we have.

Good move by the ARU if they can get away with it in the courts. The Wallabies tend to be moving in a different direction, and Lote just doesnt have the impact on a game he used to. He has lost a lot of speed, and the likes of Turner, O'Connor etc just offer more in that department. Unlucky, but true. This will free up the cash reserves at the ARU, whilst giving Tuqiri the option to head overseas and make probably $1 million a year or get an NRL contract.

He had a MASSIVE inflated contract which basically compelled the ARU to select him 2.) He had a high profile, so theoretically was good for marketing. In early days this was true, but he no longer has that exciting edge that is fun to watch. I was stoked when Deans saw the light and picked a team on merit - and quite rightly picked better prospects ahead of Tuqiri. In terms of the sacking, this should save some cash which is critical for any business in the current economic climate. Most businesses are dumping overpaid underperforming staff, and the ARU is no different. I don't think he has any more right to sue than an employee who gets the can for not being up to the standard they are being paid for.

I think it's quite pathetic how you keep coming onto this site to bag out rugby. I'm guessing you were rejected at a young age not having the ability so you went to league as you couldn't quite cope on the rugby field?

While I'll agree with most of what you are saying the ARU is responsible for honouring their contract with Tuquiri. He is underperforming but so would you if you were paid nearly $1m per year and all you did was touch the ball once or twice a game!!
