AIC competition in Brisbane seems really tight this year with Iona, St laurence, Ashgrove and Villanova all on equal points with two games to go. Villanova is the real surprise, really capable team this year, performing well above expectations. May result in some surprise choices for AIC teams due to play GPS and CHS in late June.

I have only been able to watch a few Villanova games but I agree 11 is good , as is 15 - real class act - seems to have all the time in the world , allways the mark of a great player (backs anyway) and 3 seems a brute who gets the job done in the scrum.
However , I am not sure thats enough to beat Iona who appear strong all around the park.

Although Iona beat us at Suncorp, this is a completely different team. I haven't seen Iona play, but going on the results I've heard it should be a tough game. I also agree the #15 is a great player, as is the #3. The team has really improved this season. The first game against Ashgrove was heartbreaking as it was there for the taking.

Sorry mate , long past school age!
Ex Sydney grade player with lots of friends kids playing in various AIC and GPS schools , but have a soft spot for AIC as they seem more genuinne , more about the team than individuals.

Villa went down to Iona 25-12. Villa played with 14 men for 3 quarters of the match. Ref was a joke, but Iona's fullback is an absolute freak.
Ashgrove beat Lauries 28-10
Looks like a tied premiership between Ashgrove and Iona.

iona lost a game to lauries 30-20 at the start of the season, and ashgrove have won every game so far, so ashgrove have the premiership if they win this week

I watched villa/Iona game - Iona 15 was the game winner , he is very fast and game plan seemed to be get the ball to him as fast as possible.
When Villa worked out they were soft up the middle they came back strongly after half time. However with 14 players it was too late.
Villa were far from disgraced, played well as a team, forwards hunt as a pack , and excellent backs.
I agree ref was a joke , constant (all game) early engagements by Iona not picked up and hooker laying all over the scrum - but at least ref was bad to both teams so it evened out!

The 3 GPS teams are announced and on the GPS website. Anyone know the AIC "cannon fodder" sides?

AIC teams announced today. Cruel comment on AIC no doubt to get a response . Interestingly at last years trials the real surprise was how badly GPS played and how well the CSS teams played by comparison. I suspect GPS may go very well this year given the talent on show - although I note Bermingham the NTS prop only made reserve GPS 3 team , shows what playing for Grammar will do for you !

That sir is in itself a very cruel comment. Berno has been very ill this year and to make that assertion is just plain disgraceful. may i suggest if you can't be decent here please don't comment.

If you want to beat GPS - attack their wingers and three quarters - they are very susceptible in defence, can't handle sustained pressure and crumble when not allowed any room to move. Take away the wingers space and they can't operate. In attack take them on head on - make them commit to head on tackles - none of them like it. Don't try and beat then thru the forwards as they are way too strong there.

So I am putting someone down by asking them to keep decorum at a decent level. I personallydo not take delight in making light of a person's disability or illness which you and your perverted mates do. There is actually legislation in place to deal with sick people like you. As i said, if you can't be decent please just dont contribute. These forums are actually intended for RUGBY discussion, not personal attacks on a person's misfortume or namecalling. And yes I called you a name - please feel free to go cry to mommy. Back to school boy. Your response is what is expected from a State High student although I use the word student advisedly and reservedly as education is not having the desired result in your case.
