I have been calling for McQualter to be delisted for three seasons together with Matthew Ferguson. I got one wish this season but have to admit that McQ deserves his place at present, but he's been given heaps of chances. I'm sure some past players have been watching him and thinking, "Why didn't they give me 10 games when I was only getting a dozen touches ?"

That said he doesn't deserve to be dropped on recent form. My biggest beef with him last year was his lack of physical strength. I laughed my ar.se off a few times when opposition players just picked him up in a pack situation and virtually threw him out of the way. It was like watching a dwarf throwing contest and they were saying, "get out of my way little boy."

He seems to be stronger this year but still hardly a Mr.Universe contestant. His lack of strength will probably be shown up against the Cats midfield.

I like Armitage but his disposal needs a lot of work. If they're critical of Gram's kicking what must they be saying to Armitage. Anyway, I gave hime the last spot but it would be a toss up between him and the first four emergs. On that basis that makes R.Clarke no. 28 on the list, 29 if his brother was fit.

My best team, all fit and in form, would be -

B: Gilbert Hudghton Maguire
HB: Ray Fisher Gram
C: Dal Santo Ball Montagna
HF: Goddard Riewoldt Schnieder
F: Milne Koschitzke Geary
FOLL: Gardiner Hayes Jones
I/C: King Baker Blake Armitage
Emerg: Dawson McQualter Gwilt Eddy McEvoy R Clarke

If Milne is fit he will most likely replace Clarke. Gardiner looks like taking a week or two off, so who takes his place? McEvoy is the obvious replacement but surely Max needs a couple of weeks in the firsts leading up to the Cats game. If Hugheton is back, that could free up Blake to do some ruck work to help out King. Kosi could also have a run on the ball.

Next week (IMO) -

In: Milne Hugheton
Out: Gardiner (susp) Clarke (dropped!)

I agree. If not, then McEvoy.

McEvoy, Milne >

< Gardiner, Clarke

I'd like to see Max back soon, but that might only happen if Blake is dropped or Gilbert plays forward.

They reckon Gilbert might struggle to get up for this weekend.
Could then be:
IN: Hudghton, Milne
OUT: Gardiner, Gilbert

That leave King, Koschitzke and Blake to ruck.

Gardiner has been offered a one match ban which you would expect the Saints to accept as unsuccessfully challenging the charge would lead to a two match ban.

They will most likely give McEvoy another go and Milne to come in for Clarke.

one match isnt bad. i cant remember who it was but a few weeks back a bloke did the same thing to goddard and got off. id take the one match but that review panel is a joke.

fact remains, as long as clarkes gone im happy. if he plays against geelong, we are doomed and our odds will inflate more then a hot air balloon.

We need to start a petition to get him dumped. I bet he'll get picked again this week.

why couldnt he be injured this year like he is every other year? theyve been talking about getting him injury free and out on the park and we'll see a reward. well i see the reward as having him back in the medical rooms.

I see Clarke survived the axe. Surely with Gilbert, Milne, Gardiner, Maguire ? to return in the next round he's playing his last game. Just praying for no more injuries. Got to get him out the team before the Cats game.

He proved in last years finals that he can play at AFL level,he just needs to get some consistant form going.

Agreed.
Raph Clarke is a confidence player who needs to be given a fair run in the firsts. He showed his class in last year's finals and with his run out of defence we are a much better team than having a top heavy Maguire, Dawson, Fisher, Hudghton, Gilbert, Goddard/ Blake/ Baker backline IMO.
Raph is in our best 22 and with the team being 10 zip I'm happy for him to be in the side even if he needs time to find some form.
