Article taken from Sportal: The AFL has inducted Chris Langford, Guy McKenna, Paul Salmon, Mark Bickley, Ken Hands, Bill Morris, Peter Carey and former chief executive Ross Oakley into the Australian Football Hall of Fame on Thursday night. Langford, now a league commissioner, was a permanent fixture in defence for Hawthorn during its golden era of the 1980s and early 90s and played in four premiership teams with the club. He was also a four-time All-Australian and played 303 games across 15 seasons. McKenna, the inaugural coach of the new Gold Coast Football Club, played in West Coast's first two premierships in 1992 and 1994, amassed 267 games over 13 years for the Eagles before retiring in 2000, was a two-time best-and-fairest winner and a four-time All-Australian. Salmon played 324 games for Essendon and Hawthorn in 19 seasons and was a member of the Bombers' 1985 and 1993 premiership teams. He kicked 561 career goals, was a three-time All-Australian and won the Hawks' best-and-fairest award twice. Bickley captained Adelaide to back-to-back flags in 1997 and 1998 and ended up playing 272 games for the Crows between 1991 and 2003. Hands played in two premierships for Carlton, including the infamous 'blood bath' Grand Final of 1945 against South Melbourne, and ended up with 211 games and 188 goals in 13 seasons for the Blues before retiring in 1957. He won the 1953 best-and-fairest and later coached the club for six seasons from 1959. Morris, the winner of the 1948 Brownlow Medal, was a three-time best-and-fairest winner for Richmond and captained the club for two seasons. He played 140 games for the Tigers from 1942-51 and booted 98 goals. Carey racked up a remarkable 448 games for SANFL club Glenelg between 1971 and 1988 and finished his career with 521 goals. He was a three-time premiership player, three-time best-and-fairest winner and earned two All-Australian guernseys. Meanwhile, Oakley oversaw the most dramatic facelift in the game's history in his 11 years (1986-1996) as CEO by paving the way for no less than six new entities. Under his reign, West Coast, Brisbane Bears, Adelaide, Fremantle and Port Adelaide all entered the league and the merger between Brisbane and Fitzroy was confirmed in Oakley's final year in office. http://sportal.com.au/af...l-names-inductees-70856

So you reckon Bickley shouldn't be in the HOF?

I never said he shouldn't in in the HOF. Just surprised W.Carey isn't in there before him.

Surely there's a more appropriate term for potting your captain's missus in a dunny? "Affair" has connotations of soft music, lingerie, champagne and chocolates

bickley was the teams games record holder at one stage if i remember. first premiership captain and a few other things so he certainly deserves to be here.
wayne carey should go in, but as well all know they are waiting for all his off-field 'affairs' to 'blow' over. there is no doubt the duck should be in there, similar to the ablett scenario.
i swear when i saw the name peter carey he was that umpire that marked the ball that time. or at least an umpire?
