A former Marist Canberra boy, who finished at SJC, died tragically in a car accident a few years ago. They play for a trophy in his honour. This year though there will be 13, 14, 15 and 16's team making their way south to play too.

Scots will be a tough game for all this year. They have had some success with four players in NSW and maybe have 3 in the Aus Schoolboys. Their game plan is attack based. They have a quality backline and a superb 15. What is the unknown is how their loose forwards go. They have a huge 5 (Peterson) and a good prop. Set piece is an issue I have seen when they played us in a trial. Shore forwards are good I have heard as they belted joeys for the first 40 minutes. Fitness will show.

Newington. Will be a tough game as we have the best team we have had in years (on paper). There has been a massive push with the 30 yr anniversary of our last title. Myself, I will be taking as much money as I can from the Newington staff I can. There has been other Joe Boys there on staff (one even coached the 1st XV) who did the same. All the draw is here. http://www.aagps.nsw.edu.au/

Southsider Thanks for the question. Good one as I agree I have shown mixed up support this season This may be due to the following. 1. I am Joeys old boy and will always support them 1st 2. I am Newington staff member and hence I must show loyalty to the School. 3. Scots?? Well I do have a few very good friends who coach there and I know some a couple of families. Nice people. 4. I was a AAGPS selector in 2002 and 2003 and met many good people throughout the Schools. Generally I support good, open running rugby (if it has a cerise and blue jumper on it, even better!)
