It's always amazed me how supreme athletes who are both aerobically and anaerobically fit still manage to be fat.. Who is/was the fattest you remember???
Some of mine: Whitnall, Dew, Plugger, Kickett.

BnR wrote:That bloke from the Kangas in the 80's.. The Gasometre or something... That was Mick Nolan. He was called the Galloping Gasometre and was a premiership ruckman for North Melbourne in 1977. He died fairly recently. He was only in his fifties.

LOL I though the thread said " Fastest AFL/VFL player......." Yea I used to love watching Dean Rioli play. I think the swans must have adapted their "tunnelling" tactics from him. He used to make the defenders think he was about to jump for a mark, only to jump as they were on their way down, making them look very foolish. Imagine if he was 100% fit for his whole career!!! Also Big Dipper was a fairly "robust" character.

It's funny when you watch the legends game each year and see how much some of the x-players have blown up. I nearly fell off my chair one year when I saw how fat Damien Monkhurst had become. I can't understand how guys who were once super fit athletes could let themselves go like that.
