What a joke. Suspend him for 30 games AFTER he fully heals and then it might mean something

Seems about right. Conveniently his suspension is about as long as he is out injured. From what I've heard he won't back to 100% until next season. We'll rely heavily on Jackson and Maggette in the first couple of months. Hopefully Marcus Williams can live up to the potential he showed in college and Biedrins continues to improve.
Anthony Randolph for ROY!

Because he is being 'suspended' he won't be paid during that time which means he will lose around $3M. I think he was lucky to get off that lightly...

yep, for example barry hall's case when he knocked out staker but did his wrist, the recovery time was the same as the punishment time...

Crashing the moped was stupid, and a violation of contract. But then lying about it? That's premeditated, cold wrong. He's lucky it isn't worse.
The question is would the Warriors have suspended him for 30 games IF his injury was only going to out him for say.....10 games? Would they just fine him 3M?
They are 'suspending him for 30 games' as a message to the other players to not be so flippin stupid I guess as well.
Kinda like when I killed a Red Back spider in the garden...I spray that *****ker but then I don't get rid of him..I leave him there as a warning to all those other Spiders...Don't Come in here or I will *****k you up!! So yeah..Monta is that spider...

No chance, Monta is too important for that team. If it were someone like Belinelli or some other benchwarmer, then maybe, since it wouldn't really imapct their chances of making playoffs.

I find this to be absolutely rediculous. People are saying, oh he has let his team down by breaching his contract blah blah but in reality all he did was ride a moped. Lets keep in mind that Monta is a 24 year old, its not like he is a veteran of the leauge he is still young and foolish. And yes he lied but out of fear of punishment as there is obviously tensions between don nelson and the head of the association and monta was affraid he would be martyred for his mistkae, which he was.

Seriously?! He just signed a 6 year $66M deal...the highest contract upgrade on GS history...then he goes and does something which his new contract specifically says he can't do. Look at it from GS' point of view...this will probably cost them any chance they may have had of a post season. Their franchise player...the one that they are maketing everything around and taken himself out for a 3rd of the season. And then he lies about it....there was never a chance he was not going to get caught....hes not a kids hes 24...he needs to start acting like an adult.

Well if i was getting paid $10M a year and someone told me I couldn't ride a moped and I don't think I'd have too much of a problem with that. As for getting 'martyred', I actually think he got let off VERY light. He lost $3m, which is what he would have earned had he not gone out on his moped excursion. Being 'martyred' would be a Artest-like suspension, and make him miss some games when he actually recovers. Won't happen though
