Ross McDonald makes a gear change...... tongue tie on.
Anyone with half a racing brain knows what that means.
Drifted out to 5.50 CC.
Bet up...

So the tongue does not get swallowed (block the airway passage) or it can get over the bit, a tongue tie will prevent these from occuring.

Imagine if someone shovved a bit in your mouth before you went for a run. Would you put your tongue over or under it?
Sometimes horses get their tongue over the bit, then can't get it back under. They struggle to breathe.
If you ever see a horse "tongue tie on" means they're more than likely to have had a problem last start.
Unless they're a well bred colt, who's reputation is being protected before stud.

Duffman - I am not sure what you mean? You are saying that last weeks below par performance was due to a problem with the bit in the mouth?
I am not sure what happend, my guess is as good as yours. Maybe he wont stay the distance but I know I will give him another chance. Super horse!

I won't back him in the CC, too many experts say that he can't stay. ... plus, I'm all over him in the CP and MC double, and I don't want the penalty!

If you wont back him in the CC what makes you think he will win the MC ? I hope you get your double though! I would love to see him win the big one

Getting its tongue over the bit is fixable.... Being an overrated gutless mule is harder...
