Or whatever the hell your name is. I'm really, really interested in the team line up for next season at the Dragons. Wondering if you'd give the most likely line-up thanks mate? Really like the chances you guys'll have.

GAINS: Wendell Sailor (Mid Season - NSW Waratahs, RU) Michael Weyman (Canberra Raiders) Jeremy Smith (Melbourne Storm) Luke Priddis (Penrith Panthers) Neville Costigan (Canberra Raiders) Darius Boyd (Brisbane Broncos) Matt Head (Wests Tigers) Mickey Paea (St George Dragons)
LOSSES: Josh Morris (Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs) Jason Ryles (Les Catalans, ESL) Tony Caine (Mid Season - Released) Mark Gasnier (Rugby Union, France) Lagi Setu (Brisbane Broncos) Simon Woolford (Retirement) Rangi Chase (Castleford Tigers, ESL) Ben Rogers (Newcastle Knights) Kirk Reynoldson (Retirement)

in another forum, there is a lot of discussion about which players will make the team or not. there is plenty of depth, so hopefully that means the in form players are used. however, this line-up has been the most popular so far;
1. Hornby (C)
2. Nightingale
3. Boyd (unsure about this, i think boyd came to the dragons for the fullback spot??)
4. Cooper
5. Morris
6. Soward
7. Head
8. Poore
9. Priddis
10. Paea
11. Smith
12. Creagh
13. Young

14. Costigan
15. Scott
16. Hunt
17. Prior/Sailor
if boyd did come for the fullback spot, move boyd to 1, hornby to 7, head is out. and maybe chase stanley to take boyd's spot.
as i said, there is a lot of options. i figured out there is 13 players vying for about 6 positions.

As GD4L said, I've heard that Boyd came for the #1 jersey, but our lack of depth is in the centres. At the start of last year, I was a big Chase Stanley fan, now I've got my doubts.
Also, has it been confirmed whether Sailor will still be around next year? Or is he disappearing to France?

I'd have

1. Morris
2. Nightingale
3. Boyd
4. Cooper
5. Sailor
6. Soward
7. Hornby
8. Poore
9. Priddis
10. Weyman *cries*
11. Smith
12. Costigan
13. Creagh

14. Young (back row / hooker....Priddis would be close to an 80min player though?)
15. Scott
16. Hunt
17. Paea

Don't like to leave out Head, but he and Soward are too similar. One or the other IMO. Suspect in defence. Very good on their days, also have the odd shocker in them. One thing this squad has is versatility.

Talking to most Dragon fans i know, they are shattered with the Weyman buy, calling him a dud, hack, fat blob, you name it. However Bennett bought him for a reason, he's a quality player. He's had his fair share of injuries, infact more than his share, his had a shocking run, however when he's on the paddock he can be a devastating prop. Has the size and incredibly the speed for a prop, just lacking match fitness. He draws a comparison to MoiMoi in my eyes, in the sense that he makes a big impact for the first 20 minutes, then gets substituted and has minimal impact the rest of the game. It was evident in the Canberra games i saw him play.

If Weyman can inprove his match fitness, it's a quality buy in my opinion. Dragon fans will be surprised by this chubby lad and Bennett wil be sure to get the best out of him.

Didn't he refuse a lucrative offer from the Celtic Crusaders?

if browny was going to be the coach next year, i'd say he might be going to celtic. but because wayne bennett will be his coach, he stuck around.

It's not just his fitness or injuries I'm worried about, Bennett better settle his firey head down, and keep him away from the judiciary!

Yeh he was offered the captain / coach / general manager / halfback role. He turned it down, apparently he wanted to be the mascot as well
