Today on ABC they showed the WNBL game Canberra vs Sydney in full.

How the FUCK does the WNBL get a game on TV (free to air as well!) and the NBL still have no coverage until Rd 6?? And even then its only on Foxtel.

I have always defended the NBL on their lack of TV coverage by pointing out it costs big money to televise a match, and also the fact that no TV station probably would want them due to low ratings.

But the WNBL completely made a fool of that argument. An NBL game would cost just as much to televise as a WNBL game, and would easily draw a much bigger audience. IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!

Is the WNBL run by the same people/organisation as NBL?? If not, then lets get rid of the NBL admin and put in the WNBL admin.

You just realised the WNBL get FTA coverage??? Man ur seriously off the ball.

The ABC have been showing a WNBL game of the week every season for the last 5 at least. Hell, it's the only way I can get my visual fix of live ball.

I'm guessing the NBL game of the week highlights hour on CH10 is the men's equivalent (well, when it was on that is)

Yeh I knew they have been on in previous years, but really was not expecting them to be on this year. Man I must be out of the loop. In my defense I can't say I have any interest in WNBL (though I do know a lot of the Logan Thunder players). I did watch the game today, it was painful to watch at some stages but without the NBL or NBA i am getting a bit desperate.

I say congratulations to the WNBL, they shit all over the NBL at the moment

also remember that channels HAVE to have a certain amount of local based shows - this may also have something to do with it.
