Hey has anyone heard anything about these clubs? Any signings? Last i heard Shane Smeltz from the Wellington Phenix was about to sign. (I dont think he has but if he does it will be a key lost for nz soccer as he is their goal scorer, and only Tim Brown has scored.

GC won't be signing Smeltz, Miron Bielberg has said they don't want to waste an import spot on a Kiwi, even though he is awesome, go figure... Although Shane is now being linked to Adelaide as his wife is from there and she is homesick, if he does leave Wellington it will be for family reasons and not money, Wellington have plenty of money if he wants it and he has them to thank for his resurgent career.

Haven't heard anything from NQ, I actually like the way they are going about thier prep for version 5, unlike GC who talk smack every opportunity they get on how they will have the best team and will win the league in the first season, haha its like they don't understand there is a salary cap of 1.8mill. So far they have signed Jess Vanstrattan (Juventus), Scott Higgins (Roar, Adelaide) and Steve Fitzsimmons (NZ Knights), all Aussies who are only squadies at best apart from Jess who may be a starter in goal.

Now it is past Oct 1 and these clubs can officially approach current A-league players I am sure things will start rolling on the recruitment front.

Im not sure if Norh Queensland Thunder could attract that big of a fan base especially in rugby League territory. At least its spreading the game and they should get behind it. I dont know about theses lame names. Any opinions on names or predictions of marketing and fans in north queensland?

The Liverpool of Australia. Continental success but domestically underwhelming.

North Queenslanders will support anything and support it well. League, basketball, hockey etc. They'll have no trouble getting a decent fanbase from not only Townsville but surrounding areas as far south as Mackay and north to Cairns.

I don't like trusting the Townsville Bulletin, but I read this morning that Cassio from Adelaide is expected to sign shortly with NQFC. That'd be a great signing for us.

Neither GCG or NQT exist any more, succeeded by Gold Coast United and North Queensland FC. Melbourne Heart will be the next to join after them.

About as massive as Aloisi. Apart from Viduka and Kewell, I can't say I'm particularly interested in any Australian players.
