I still maintain that in a team of stars, Ebi Ere will not be the player he was last season. He will have the occasional big game but since the Tigers have so many great players, there will be less of a chance for Ere to be the star.

Anstey has been mouthing off again. well i think there is a rivalry and it just got bigger,we were in playoffs first year and dam that guy has an attitude! ARTICLE FROM FRONT PAGE
Melbourne Tigers big man Chris Anstey has slammed cross-town neighbours South Dragons ahead of their local derby on Saturday night, saying 'they haven't been any good' since entering the NBL.
As a result, Anstey rubbished the notion that his side has a rivalry with the Dragons because of their relatively uneventful first two seasons in the competition.
"We've never had a rivalry with the Dragons because they haven't been any good," he bluntly stated after Melbourne's Thursday morning training session at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
"I think it takes successful teams to compete and I don't think a rivalry develops until you play each other in the finals."
"This is probably the first step towards that, it's gonna be a good crowd, but for us it's about winning championships, it's not about winning derby games."
Despite the long history between the reigning champions and Dragons coach Brian Goorjian, who has previously coached three of the Tigers' cross-town rival teams and the Sydney sides that lost two Grand Finals in the past three seasons to Melbourne, Anstey doesn't believe Goorjian's involvement in yet another Melbourne derby will add any extra spice to the contest.
However, the Tigers centre is well aware that his team's ambitions of achieving back-to-back titles for the first time in its history will depend on its ability to handle the Goorjian-led Dragons over the course of the campaign.
"He's always had successful teams so you've generally got to go through a Goorjian-coached team to win a championship," he said.
"This year will be no different but this is the first one (derby) of four (this season) so hopefully they're good games."
Anstey doesn't believe Melbourne has reached anywhere near its potential this season and that despite winning four of its first six matches, there is a lot of improvement left in the team.
And the Boomer surprisingly nominated himself and Ebi Ere as two players in particular that have to lift their games despite both featuring in the top four for most points scored in the NBL this season.
"I don't think I've played well at all and Ebi doesn't think he's shot the ball well," said Anstey, who is also ranked second in the competition for rebounds.
"I think we've both been pretty disappointing and I think it's been the other guys who have stepped up and played their roles better that have won games for us."
"I take it upon myself to play better and get fitter and make sure that I'm playing well to contribute to the team."

You have to blame bad management not Ebi for him going to the Tigers. All the Dragons had to do was sign him to contract with a NBA and European out clauses in it and you didn't end of story. Another case of Dragons bad management. Mark Cowan is an idiot for letting Ebi slip through the Dragons fingers and just to add insult to Dragons injury we got him under the salary cap at bargain price. Yes by the way I am a tigers fan
