The Rankings don't and never will mean anything, it's just a way for FIFA to make International football mean something when apart from the World Cup and the continent cups such as the European Cup, Copa America etc, the other matched mean nothing.

That latest ranking would include both our win against the Dutch (true, it was only on friendly points but it still a 'low' team beating a 'high' team), and our away win against the Uzbeks, correct?
If that's the case I for sure thought we'd be higher.
But all the Asian teams are underrepresented. We play a fraction of 'tournament' games (qualifiers, cups) then the Europeans and the South Americans, and its these games that carry the heavy point loadings. Friendlies are worth bugger all.

Ahh no. Turkey would smash us at their peak, they have quality everywhere and proved it in the Euro 2008 Qualifying and at Euro 2008 itself making the Semi Finals and losing in the last minute to Germany, we're good, but not THAT good. We're Top 25 at the moment MAX. Also what's this on our day business, if we were on our day we could beat this and that, it's the bloody same with any of the top nations, on anyones day they could beat anyone!!!

wtf, we have dominated many teams like Italy, holland, brazil, croatia, france etc. when they were playing fantastic world class football now if you think Turkey are better any of those teams then I don't know what else to say.

When did we dominate those teams? You said earlier that you weren't biased... Our first team is good but our depth is terrible. We have so many sub-par players lurking on the fringes it isn't funny. If we had to go through the rigours of European qualifying, I think we would be found out pretty quickly.

What are you smoking, in the World Cup Italy had 5 to 6 clear chances and were by FAR the better side, and you'll say what about the penalty, what about Materazzi being sent off when it shouldn't have even been a card. Brazil? Mate Australia were never going to beat Brazil and they were at about 50% of their potential. Yes the Croatia game i agree, but Holland and France? Also what about when Denmark crushed the Aussies, 3-1 in London, Poulsen on fire in the middle, did Australia dominate that, they were throughly outclassed. Mate Friendlies mean as much as listening to a Politician all day. Seriously, dominated many teams my rear.

i have the whole WC dvd set at home and payed close attention to those two games, we had outplayed Brazil for long moments during the match and against italy we were taking adavantage of the extra man by making them tired and putting them on the backfoot. Oh and as for holland and france, holland about 3 weeks ago and france, though a long time ago, in 2001. Also argentina last year at the MCG, equaled them

Yeh taking advantage by having one decent chance the whole game? Yeh. Italy are so far superior to Australia in every way there is not point even going into it, your far too ignorant and have a one sided biased view on the matter. As for Brazil, as i said they were playing well within themselves, and were and still are a shadow of the side they once were in 2002. Basically, you are talking utta garbage.

Holland? It was a friendly and they couldn't care less they lost because they has bigger fish to fry, it's called World Cup Qualifying. As for France, it was in 2001 as you said and it was in front of a half full MCG in bucketing rain, you may as well throw that out too. And the Argentina game, i was at, It was the Lionel Messi show the first half and it was only once Argentina scored and took the foot off the pedal that Australia actaully started doing something.

Socceroos, Nationalisitc much?
Australia are good, but we didn't dominate the likes of Brazil, Italy etc. Wow It was 0-0 then Italy got a controverisal penalty, who cares, they dominated the whole game and deserved to win.
Australia deserved to be like 22nd.
