For those of you who hav'nt come across it download new iTunes and check it out... Pretty cool, you choose what song you want to listen to hit the genius button and it builds a playlist with songs in your collection that are similar to it...unfortunatley though the Genius button dont work on AC/DC and The Beatles

All well and good, but the fact remains iTunes is even more HIV+ than RealPlayer.

Yeh, it's interesting...and there's that thing where you click the song and it comes up with recommended songs not in your library...but then again, that's just obviously a ploy to sell more but oh well...
I've found that genius build a ply list with very different songs...like equivalent to 25 randomly shuffled songs lol.
And yeh, the artists and labels not currently sold on itunes won't get the genius treatment.

...making it nothing more than a cheap marketing scheme. Apple, iTunes, etc. can go rot.

So you're cool with the application bombarding you with subtle, unsolicited advertising?
Doesn't matter anyway in the end, because I doubt very much that Apple will achieve their goal of a monopoly over the recording industry. A lot of people are refusing to associate with them due to the lackluster royalties on offer for digital purchases through iTunes, it's basically a double-dip at the expense of the recording artists whose work they are peddling. Can't believe so many lemmings still shell out money on Apple products and use iTunes given that abuse.
That was my main point really, regarding Cammo saying "the artists and labels not currently sold on itunes won't get the genius treatment." It's as if Apple are so smug that they don't care people are actively avoiding association with them.
I'll just stick with the FoxyTunes plug-in, kthx.

If you know the right blogs, it's dead easy to find/download albums pre-release (should you be so inclined).

First post: Last.FM is much better, and less intrusive/annoying.
Second post: I have a seriously srs case of CBF on that front, and personally doubt most of the people here would like some of my go-to blogs.

CBF = Can't be [other word for "fudged"].
Not particularly, I already have the latest Bloc Party, Kings of Leon, Ghostlimb, etc.
