http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,24377585-23769,00.htmlMick Hill stating the obvious on this one. Whether you are from Brissy or not, it needs to be done. How on earth will they reduce the league to 8, or even 10, for that matter next season? Who is going to miss out if they do so?

There is a "Brisbane back on board" campaign starting up. I am going to get an info pack about it soon via email. There is no way in hell Brisbane won't be in the comp next season.

Cairns Townsville Brisbane Gold Coast Sydney (Kings) Wollongong Melbourne South Adelaide Perth NZ Who are they going to cut if it is going to be 8 or 10 teams? (I know I keep asking that, but it is a valid question) Add one more team to this list to make it 12 and leave it. No expanding for a few years.

I have a feeling that NZ may be left out of the competition. That could be a possibility. The game needs to start from the bottom again and it may have to start with Australian teams only. Another possibility could be one of the regional QLD teams could be left out.... Cairns, Townsville (both unlikely with the crowds they get) and Blaze. Or they may make it a 12 team competition.....with a new franchise either in Canberra or Hobart. The Spirit will not survive.

It's never been a problem with the number of teams, so axing a few of them won't solve anything IMO. 12 is a good number, Basketball is a better sport with more teams. 8 would be garbage, same with 10. I still think they should bring the Bullets and Kings back and move the spirit/razorbacks to Canberra (or even Hobart).

Totally agree mate.... 8 is not enough teams.....we'll be seeing more professional players out of work....or heading overseas. If we got to 8 teams I can see guys like Jason Smith, Brett Maher, Paul Rogers, Martin Cattalini, Ben Knight all retire. I think 12 would be the right number of teams.....

I don't know how they are going to do 8 either. If this was an absolute neccessary, I guess the 8 teams would be Brisbane Sydney Melbourne South Melbourne Gold Coast Adelaide Perth Townsville It would be a shame if Cairns were to lose their side but that looks to be the case. The Crocs has one of the most fanatical fan bases in the NBL. I also would have liked to have seen NZ stay

Yeh I know I 100% agree with you but I can't think of how those teams will fit in an 8 team comp. Townsville is a much bigger market then Cairns. It'll probably be a fight between Wollongong and GC for the final spot, unlesss they only have 1 team in Melbourne
