What festivals are people attending this Spring/Summer?

I'll be going to Soundwave and Summadayze for certain, but will have to choose between Stereosonic and Global Gathering.

Looking to hit Big Day Out in Auckland. Lineup yet to be announced, but Neil Young supposedly headlining. Should be wicked. Other rumoured appearances include The Arctic Monkeys, The Ting Tings, and My Morning Jacket

Yeh that would be wicked if Klaxons and Hot Chip came as well! Never know what to make of these rumours, but hopefully something substantiates from them!

I'm not interested in BDO, but side-shows? Hell yes.

Would love to see the four acts I named, especially intrigued to see Simian Mobile Disco (whose music is just as cool as their name).

Other confirmed acts include Lacuna Coil, Poison The Well, HORSE The Band and Goldfinger.

Jimmy Eat World are off the table, 100% legit.

Soundwave was freakin' poor last/this year.

It was looking good then Social D dropped out and all of a sudden there was no point to go.

I got to see Incubus side show but, it was wicked.

Good bands coming over soon, hopefully I will get to some.

I disagree about this year's Soundwave being lame. On the day I scoped out From Autumn To Ashes, Sugarcult, The Fall Of Troy, Cartel, As I Lay Dying, Alexisonfire, Thursday, The Offspring, Motion City Soundtrack and Mindless Self Indulgence, those in bold being especially awesome. A shame that I didn't get to see Infectious Grooves and City & Colour however, that would've really made my day.

Forget about Social D (I was a little disappointed when they pulled out, but meh), if the strong rumours I've been hearing about the promised "punk/hardcore legends" are correct, the festival becomes instant win no matter what.

Yeah, veered off in (imo) a much better direction though. Really love their remix work.

Marillion Have just released a new double album (Happiness is the road) , what good about this is you can either download it free
or make a donation on the marillion website .
its not the best marillion album by a long way but is well worth a listen .
you can also download other albums free from the marillion website i'd recommend " a crash course in marillion "

Top 5 albums this year IMO:

Beck
Fleet Foxes
TV on the Radio
Vampire Weekend
Los Campesinos!

Had high hopes for Bloc Party, KOL and My Morning Jacket but, while all still good, nothing on their past work IMO all a little disappointing especially Bloc Party

Yes, I like most of the older breed (or those purveying the old-school vibe today) of hip-hop.

Fave artists include A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Brand Nubian, Mos Def and Pharoahe Monch.

Pretty decent stuff. Don't suppose you're a fan of any of Steven Wilson's projects? E.g. Porcupine Tree, No Man, etc., etc. I believe he produced one of Marillion's albums...
