Yeh NME is probably my magazine of choice, the only problem I have with them is their tendancy to over hype a new british indie group every single month haha. Mojo is another decent publication. I've gone off Rolling Stone. It seems like all their reviews are biased if you ask me. Its stale and too conservative now
that is just so true it is a shame. they are just a name now. nothing more...

Yeah, but you learn to disregard any hype...eventually. They convinced me to listen to The Courteeners ffs. They tend to just focus a lot on the flavour of the month but all you really need is the name of a band and you can do the leg work, which is great. I can't stand RS. They are living on their reputation and stale and conservative sums them up beautifully. Conservative with their music and stale with their weak, left-wing opinions.

And they just love certain artists. Its strange they looooove Kanye West. I admit i'm a fan, but they will say no wrong about him and always give his albums 4 and a half stars. And they will give Bob Dylan 5 star reviews when hes 120 years old I think

There is also 90% 3.5 stars. What is that telling anybody? The album is good, but not great.

Yeh haha I was going to mention that. Your dead right. 90% of albums get rated 3 or 3.5. Its a joke haha. Glad to see that doesn't just annoy ME

I hate it. There is no point in rating it if you are going to sit on the fence anyway. They may as well just try and summarise the sound so you can look it up yourself.

Allready liked the first two though If you're wanting to check out more post-hardcore, I'll drop a few recommendations for you: Fugazi, At the Drive-In, Jawbox, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Water Music, Quicksand, Glassjaw, Bear vs Shark, Thursday, Sparta and Rival Schools. Given the first two bands you listed (esp. Alexisonfire) lean more towards the screamo side of things, I'd also suggest looking into acts like Orchid, Ampere, Saetia, I Would Set Myself On Fire For You, Funeral Diner and Circle Takes The Square. Really digging the latest Less Than Jake album, and hope they tour next year. Maybe with Goldfinger?

I can't stand too much Less Than Jake. Too much ska makes my head hurt. Hopefully getting the new Rise Against album soon. Anyone got it yet? Also, I get to go see Lagwagon and Only Crime when they come over

You've got good taste. I've listened to quite a bit of At the Drive In as well. Good stuff. Agree with you about The Warning. Best Hop Chip album by far in my opinion!
