I was just laying the cables and I noticed on a calendar in my dunny that the Monday after Grand Final is Queens Birthday public holiday in WA
Thats exactly the time Victorians should have it, would make the Grannie even bigger. A festival type occasion.

Someone in the Government must of been pre-empting a West Coast GF appearance.....HOW WRONG WAS HE? Still they needed a softener after the news has gone out that they are going to turn their backs on the sporting public and not gives us our much needed new stadium. If any of you eastern staters want to experience fascilities from the old days of the seventies, then hop on a flight and come sit thru a game at Subi next year, its embarrassing.

Pffft - you know nothing. Queens Birthday public holiday has always been around this time each year. It always coincides with the first monday of the school holidays, which is also the opening weekend of the Perth Royal Show. Nothing to do with the AFL GF, but very often it happens to fall on the same weekend.

Don't tell me ur need to "educate" a west australian about his public holiday's is because of my remark concerning the eagles abyssmal showing this year. And i didn't think their supporters were that precious.

buddylove wrote:Thats ironic coming from a Fitzroy supporter (if u are, correction, were) Fitzroy's last win was over Freo, mind you their last loss was against Freo too. But when Fitzroy went to QLD, I had to find a Victorian team to support. So I jumped on my brother and sister's bandwagon in 1997...GO CATS!!! I hate Brisbane with a passion. It riled me to see them in 4 GFs in a row, I'm glad they haven't been in Finals since then. I have other favorite teams, my Mum's team; the Saints, and my Dad's team; the Bulldogs. It's good to see that they are 3 of the 4 remaining teams. Besides Fitzroy has a proud history, 8 premierships including 1916 (a year when they also won the wooden spoon, no other team has achieved this). How many GFs have Freo played in? I'm not at all sorry to be a Fitzroy supporter.
