As a player, i've pinpointed 3 points from last nights awards that I'm not entirely happy about.
1. How did my mate Terry Campese not win 5/8 of the year? I thought if he'd lose it would be in a close one to Anasta, but I'm sorry, G.I is not a natural 5/8 and doesnt suit the position. He has incredibale ability with the ball under his wing but thats about it. Shocked and disappointed it was Inglis to say the least.
2. Nothing against melbourne, but Israel Folau winning center of the year? Stunned me completely. Sure he is a great player and had a wonderful season, but he shined in 07 and was just solid in 08. In my professional opinion there were 2 or 3 other better Center's running around the NRL this season, specifically a certain raider's player.
3. Is it just me or do your natural ball players always win the Dally M? it seems to always be the 1's, 6's, 7's and 9's getting the award. its been orford, thurston, johns and smith recently. When was the last time a front rower or a winger won the Dally M? Why doesnt the game allow this to happen?
