I'm saying Oden...
I'm saying this as a Suns fan but Robin Lopez showed a bit in the Summer League and before you all start throwing stuff at me about the Summer League meaning nothing, one of the biggest criticisms of his game was his offense... Everyone who's seen him play knows he can play D but he actually showed quite a nice shooting touch... With all eyes on the usual suspects he might get some game time if Shaq is injured (Which he will be no doubt) and might just quietly get some good stats...

Rose will be a great player, perhaps not this season though because he won't get the court time that guys like Beasley and Oden will. Chicago are paying Hinrich $10 mil, he ain't about to lose the bulk of his PT to a rookie. My pick is Beasley. I have a couple of concerns with Oden this season. Firstly, his summer league last year before he had surgery was not that impressive. It was a while ago now but all I can remember is that he racked up a ton of fouls and didn't post super impressive numbers. And as of right now, he's still not ready to play. Beasley is ready to go and had a far more impressive showing at summer league and seems to show that he's more ready for the NBA. Although if Oden can be the starting center on a 45-win team it will definitely help his chances

Guys like Oden, Beasley and Mayo will get more minutes than players like Rose, Love and Westbrook...

even so, Rose won't win it. He won't make the 'impact' that Beasley & Oden will make. I'd really cannot pick between Beasley or Oden just yet, Beasley will no doubt score a heap of points, & like Outstrung said, Oden will get heaps of playing time on playoff team. My picks 1. Beasley 2. Oden 3. Mayo

i can see rose making quite an impact & leading his team back to the playoffs. he'll be up there.

Agreed. I'd love to see what Westbrook could do with some decent minutes though.

Oden was my initial thought. He's just gonna be a beast me thinks.
But the one that is somehow flying low (which is in contrast to his entire life so far) is O.J. They reckon this kid is gonna be a freak. He dropped off towards the end of college and I reckon he'll have something to prove.

Oden is best player there, but has alot of talent around (roy, aldridge, bayless, rudy, outlaw), so mite not get it. if not him, mayo mite coz he will get heaps of shots up and will b first, if not 2nd priority on O.

You look at previous ROYs, Paul, Durant, LBJ. They all played big minutes and were one of the, if not the, main man on the team. This will count against Rose

Rose won't get the minutes, the Bulls have already said he won't be walking into a starting role and even if Gordon isn't around he'll still have a tough time getting minutes. And when he does play, well it won't be that easy racking up dimes when Larry Hughes is throwing up brick after brick

For a team that lost a tonne of games last year, NOT PLAYING the No 1 draft pick makes a lot of sense. He will get the minutes, I doubt another franchise will want to waste minutes on Larry Hughes.

he will get enough minutes to make a strong case for ROY.

But unfortunately Stats are what matters when it comes to these awards. Mayo, Oden & Beasley will have MUCH better stats then Rose. i'm not saying he's not 'talented' enough to win. but playing at Chicago he won't get enough time to outshine the previous 3 i just mentioned
