Not suggesting he didn't do anything.... It's just that he wasn't the only one..... Other guys get councelling or warnings after a first offence yet he wasn't afforded such a luxury. I wonder why none of the other Knights weren't treated the same way as Tilse? Oh that's right - there's a different rule for people who can pass, kick, run etc better than others....

Typical of the League and clubs – throw the book at lesser players to make it look like they are cleaning up the game.

that low life is not Todd Carney no one cares what that s ***** ended up doing... it shouldn't be any different but it is The NRL will send a clear message that enough is enough you don't carry on & think that because one club has had enough ( rightly so ) that you can walk into the next or with Co Operation from the ESL .... overseas.
Maybe Mr Carney will now become the rule .... Not an Exception.
I'm not saying that what Carney has done is on a s*****bag level quite as low as assaulting a woman. But that's the point. If the ESL are prepared to sign Latu for the lower act, they're not going to baulk at signing Carney ... are they?

He just signed a 4 year deal with the Raiders
So the fair thing would be to deregister him for the duration of his contract.
He obviously likes getting tanked and p|sing on people's heads.
At least he'll have 4 years to do it enough times so he either gets over it or someone he does it to takes exception and ties his p3nis in a knot.

If he carries on like this he'll resemble Reg Reagan.

According to Fox Sports: Carney to replace Tim Smith in England, with Smith to make a return to the NRL with the Warriors..... Adding fuel to the fire, Rovelli and Witt have not been offered contracts for next year.

I would like to see both of them back in the NRL. I think the NRL have made a mistake by not allowing him to be registered again until 2010, they will need to do it with every player now. Start with Tumata(?), if he signs with Melbourne Carney can feel hard done by.

If the raiders want to take a hard line on this kind of behaviour, than fine that's there choice, but if another club is willing to take the risk of having there reputation 'tarnished' then I don't see why another club can't sign Carney. It will be a stupid move by the NRL to de-register this bloke.

The purpose of de-registering him is so the raiders are not disadvantaged by having a moral obligation and dumping him. Imagine if they dumped him, he turns out for the panthers this weekend and get the point? If this was to happen then no club would ever take a hard-line approach, and players would get away with murder. At least this way, if clubs cannot resolve the issue(s) then if neccessary they can sack him.
