Courtesy of the retirement of the third-best player I have ever seen, the last remaining link to the VFL is lost from the game.

Well done Robert Havey, what a champion.

um Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Geelong, North Melb, Melb, Bulldogs, Brisbane, West Coast, Sydney, Richmond, Hawthorn, St Kilda.. I would consider these clubs lnks to the VFL as they were all part of it. Harvey was the last PLAYER to play in the VFL. The link to the VFL wil never die as long as these club continue to form the AFL.

yes, West Coast entered the VFL, but they have no current player from that year.

As the second poster pointed out there are a heap of team links to the VFL. But no players which anyone could understand was my point.

Laughing Don't half the Victorian AFL teams have teams in the VFL, affiliate or otherwise?

Idiots.

Allow me to-rephrase.

For the first time since the VFL'S inception over 100 years ago, there will be no player in the top level of Australian Rules Football who was playing at the top level of Australian Rules Football when the Australian Rules Football competition currently known as Australian Football League was knon as the Victorian Football League.

Well, I'm not sure that is exactly true either. Hasn't Harvey missed one or two games recently?

Anyway.. back to Robert Harvey.. yeah, legend of the game. Pity he never won a premiership (He can Blame D. Jarman and A. McLeod for that) Was a very deserved winner of back 2 back Charlies and I noticed on his resume he was also in the AA team for years 6 running 94-99
