EPL Draft/Trading Fantasy Game

Players

SBW
Celtics08
Panthers
Cronk’s Army
Cammo1707
Ratboy oo7
Shanbon
MUFC#7

Rules

The league will be based on head-to-head play. Each week your team (Starting XI) will be matched up against another team from within the league. The total points from your side will be calculated based on the scores on http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ , with 3 points awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.

Squads of 18 will be drafted, compromising 2 Goalkeepers, 6 Defenders, 6 Midfielders and 4 Strikers. Players positions will be classified accordingly as they appear on http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
It might pay to register a team on that site if you haven’t already just so you can access all their statistics, team lists etc.
The formations available will be as per http://fantasy.premierleague.com/. Only your starting XI will score. Your elected captain will score double points.

All undrafted players will go into a pool. Each week teams will have the option of dropping one of their own squad in exchange for picking up a player in the undrafted pool. This is to help deal with injuries, trades etc. Once you have dropped one of your team members, that player is then part of the pool and can be picked up by another team immediately.

Trading will also be allowed. You must maintain a 2-5-5-3 balance in terms of the makeup of your side however. It is possible for example to trade a defender for a midfielder from another team. However, before the start of the round you would have to drop one of your extra midfielders and pick up a defender from the undrafted pool to return to the status quo 2-5-5-3 team makeup.

Point Scoring is based on the following system:

For playing in a game 1
For playing at least 60 minutes in a game (includes playing points mentioned above) 2
For each goal scored by your goalkeeper or defenders 6
For each goal scored by your midfielders 5
For each goal scored by your forwards 4
For each goal assist 3
For your goalkeeper / defender conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 4
For your midfielder conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 1
For every 3 shot saves made by your goalkeeper 1
For every penalty save 5
For every penalty miss -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by your goalkeeper or defenders -1
For every yellow card -1
For every red card (includes any yellow card points) -3
If a player receives a red card, they will continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team.

Draft Order

Round One

1. Cammo1707
2. Cronk’s Army
3. SBW
4. Celtics08
5. Panthers
6. Ratboy oo7
7. Shanbon
8. MUFC#7

The draft order will be flipped each round. I think this is the fairest way to do it rather than randomising it each round.

EDIT: From now on you have 24 hours to make your pick. Once 24 hours is up the person who is next in line can make their pick. If you miss a turn you may make your pick as soon as you come back onto the forum, but obviously any players that have been picked during your absence will be no longer available

Just as soon as Cammo comes on. No set time just check regularly and make your pick when its your turn. Any changes or suggestions?

Just trying to figure out how trading would work best. I think we should have to keep our team makeup 2-5-5-3.

It will be hard to come up with even position-position trades, but im sure we will all be able to throw together some good 2 for 2 trades etc.

Yea I was thinking about that too.You could also just say that you have to maintain that balance by the start of each round - eg I could trade a midfielder for a defender, but could then cut one of the excess defenders for an undrafted mid

Thanks it should be good. Let me know if theres any thing you think we should change to the rules. Do you guys think adding two more teams would be good?

MUFC is keen and im sure someone else would be

I think 8 teams would be good. But only if you guys are happy with that

Will be interesting too see if anyone wants to bite the bullet and pick Ronaldo....risky, but could definitely pay off later in the season if hes still there after January
