With only 5 more games to go before finals, the majority of awards (Brownlow, Coleman, Rising Star etc.) are starting to be discussed. What about the All-Australian team??
I know this topic has came up in a couple of threads, but who at this point in time would make the All-Australian team??
Which ruckman will get the starting position on the field?? How many Geelong players will make it this year?? Who has snuck underneath the radar in '08 to be a surprise selection?? Who will be the unlucky midfielders to miss out this year?? Will Hawthorn have more players then Geelong this year??
The ruck poses as a big question. Dean Cox has had a good season especially at the start of the year, but David Hille is finishing off extremely strongly and is one of the reasons Essendon has turned around it's mid-season form slump.
Interesting to see everyones teams and thoughts on who the best players have been this year....

Rough draft off the top of my head:
Martin Mattner, Matthew Scarlett, Ben Rutten
Darren Milburn, Nathan Bock, Corey Enright
Brent Harvey, Jimmy Bartel, Matthew Richardson
Robert Murphy, Nick Riewoldt, Lance Franklin
Alan Didak, Brendan Fevola, Ryan O'Keefe
Dean Cox, Simon Black, Gary Ablett
Sam Mitchell, Jason Akermanis, Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands
Others: Joel Corey, Chris Judd, Jarryd Roughead, Jason Porplyzia, Steve Johnson, Chris Newman, Daniel Bradshaw, Brett Kirk.
Probably forgot a couple, but quite a few of these will get in.

Probably forgot a couple, but quite a few of these will get in. I think Hille deserves a place in this side. Definitely the best big man in footy.

Oh I am sorry hey everyone I was wrong Richo is a superstar the greatest player ever to have played the game. But now I am confused because Richmond have no players worth a pinch of sh1t.

Don't worry about it, i was perplexed about his views on Richmond myself, with him being a Tigers supporter and all. It's just his way of baiting the Carlton, Hawks etc. fans and giving them what they want... You took it

I still think I am forgetting a few but that will do. yeah, fair effort Would swap Didak with Roughead considering you have pav and Richo on the bench, whilst Medhurst is really unlucky, he's be on the cusp. Don't think Waite deserves a spot, but can't really think of anyone off the top of my head

Yeah, that was similair to my thoughts. No backmen (apart from Scarlett) have really dominated this year. I was thinking Mackie or Campbell Brown but Jarrad Waite has gone under the radar this year. He has played some really good footy, but is it good enough to warrant him the CHB position was my thoughts. Mackie has a good chance this year. Also was extremely impressed with Josh Gibsons season so far. He will be a star in the future if he keeps his game up. Possible All-Australian selection this year??? He has a decent chance with the lack of defenders being noticed.
