Cadel Evans- 2nd
Still a tremendous effort to finish 2nd two years in a row, with a much weaker team than other riders.
I haven't followed the tour for very long at all...I was wondering, can anyone explain to me the history/reason for the non movement last leg??

Yeh...i knew that, just had no idea why either... So what happens? Do they just go as one massive pack to the finish? And what would happen if some sneaky bugger decided to go and try to win it? lol

the sprinters still go flat out for the stage win...it's a huge thing to win on champs d'elysees any sneaky bugger who went for the win would get shut down pretty quick...it's hard to make a breakaway work in paris. if evans went for the win, the whole CSC team would swamp him straight away

Yeah a bit sus about Schlek. I've rode time trials, and its hell of alot easier when you can see someone to catch. Maybe I'm bitter cause I'll be in Paris tomorrow... If anyone cares, I'll be uploading photos of the final sprint & hopefully podium (if I get close enough) below. http://cambo.smugmug.com/gallery/5535872_9jV5F

Ok now in the washup i think:
a) as i said earlier i think it was team CSC plan all along to have Sastre as the team leader and Schlek was the bunny b) did Sastre hold himself back in the first ITT to fool Evans into allowing him too much time for the 2nd ITT.
I think team CSC beat Evans not Sastre, we all know that but thats cycling and thats the Tour De France.

Disappointing by Cadel. I really dont think there will be a next year. Next year it will be Astana (if they are aloud in) vs CSC mainly with Cadel, Menchov, Vandevelde and Kohl all just with slight chances. McEwen (i hope not) but if he doesnt win tomorrow i dont think he will race the tour next year unless he has a good off-season. Next year Cav will dominate. Also Andy Schleck will be very good next year if he keeps improving. Cadel. I think we will be waiting for out next big GC chance i dont think Cadel can make it unless he wakes up and leaves Lotto. However he wont do that cause he is too loyal.

Still proud of ya Cadel, two podiums in a row is a decent effort mate and you can hold your head up high.

Well, are we goin to see anyone return a positive test for the jungle juice in the blood. Big contenders for that i think are Kohl, the Schlek boys (i dont think so but they seemed very up and down over the last few days), Shumacher and Sastre.

well done cadel 2nd is still a great achievement. at the end of the day he spent to much petrol on the mountain stages where he was isolated as he was trying to beat a whole team by himself. hopefully next year they will build the team around cadel and get some decent climbers in their team cause Yaroslav Popovych was an absolute joke.

Well done Cadel, did about as well as a man can when crucified in the mountains by the buch of morons on training wheels that were supposed to be his team. They should all hand back their pay cheques. CSC dominated this event and deserved all they got really.
