I think the likes of Ben Tapuai and Blair Connor can step up to Super Rugby next year. Both are very impressive young players. Another that I think that Reds should be after now that David Croft has left is Seilala Lam from the Brumbies stable. Bit of info on him, played Aus. Schools in '06 and is currently a member of the Aus. U20 team to play in Wales. The Reds could maybe develop him into a gamebreaker, is very strong on his feet and at the breakdown.

Reds should look to sydney club comp. The QLD club comp is very much a good second grade standard in comparrision. They could do alot worse then scout the best talent from the wicks and syd uni as they are both out in front a present. Talking up schoolboys to fill super 14 contracts is a big ask. Guys are physically and mentally not up to it IMO. Its great to see the reds putting faith in there young players though. All the guys playing in the 20s in the UK next month have all been contracted to the reds in some capacity. There culture will improve significantly in the next 2 yrs.

The only dent is the one where your brain should be!!! Yea, Saia might well be the starting hooker (I think they should both get over Hardman) but there is not much between them. they were both in the 19's in 2006 and from all reports both were right up there. hanson will be bigger and stronger than Saia and Saia more experienced. Interesting you would call Hanson a snotty nosed kid. Where are you from brainstrain??

Hey Vinno tell me where Morgan, the Faingaia twins, Dayna Edwards, Adam Byrns and Leroy are from???? rugby is a professional game, coaches will want the best young blokes they can get and create there culture from there. Yanuyanutawa, only non contracted player to be picked in the A squad. impressive

Hanson for example finaly got his contract a few weeks ago and with the u20s cup coming up he'll be more than ready to step up next year and there are plenty of young Qlders in the same boat. there is bucket loads of schoolboy talent come through queensland schools the last couple of years but if we bring in a heap of interstate players when these young blokes are ready they'll be forced to move interstate because they can't get a contract.

I'm with you on this one Vinno. Queensland have produced top quality footballers for longer than we can remember. the problem over the last few years is that some players had to leave the established bases of QLD and NSW to form the Brumbies and later on the Force. This is where QLD faltered. They made some strategic errors and let some players go that in hindsight they should have kept. Throw in some in-house issues and we have had some poor returns over the last couple of seasons. But QLD will return to the good times with good player management. Yes there will be some imported players but there is still very rich potential in our homegrown players. You only have to look at the amount of players from the 2006 U/19's that are QLD'ers to realise how well we are going in development. Even with the current U/20's I heard that the QLD team belted the NSW contingent in a trial. Hanson, Connor, Daly and many others when combined with Vaaulu, Fetoai, Barnes, Lucas and Co. will get us back on track.

boys i am not a QLDer and its great to see your passion. I want the reds to be successful too. Mooney and Bell are well regarded by young guys throughout the country due to the link with the national jnr programs. reds have had whatt 4 coaches in 5 yrs. Once they develop some stability they will be fine. If i am the reds i am wanting the McCallmans Yanuyanutawas and co that are young and will be competent super 14 players to head your way. Cause they will get a start and add value. I am not a QLDER just want you boys to be strong. Watch those two names plus Nathan Charles and Laurie Weeks. Charles will be behind Hanson at 20s this world cup.Beat Fitzpatrick to team and has another yr of 20s next yr. All four sydney uni based but will be exciting to watch deveolp

He can play, may be a bit light, but QLD could do worse than him.

i think reds are acting more as a distributor club. it seems managemtn all they are aiming for all these 'up and comers' and with the oldest players being hynes and turinui ( i think they're like 25 and 27) reds are in some need of some serious experience. all these young blokes go to reds, get a contract and move onto other clubs for better prospects....if you ask me we need some solid old fellas to set the young ones straight.

Who would u rather at Fullback Peter Hynes or Rodney Davies?? I would prob have Hynes at Fullback so we can unleash Davies speed on the wing... Wish we could also recruit someone like Ratu, someone in the mould of Alesana Tuilagi would be awesome aswell...
So far this is what i see from Scrumhalf back
9- Lucas 10- Cooper 11- Ioane 12- Barnes 13- Turinui or Connor 14- Davies 15- Hynes
