Hi Faytiges, I loved Bomber Bill, I did the crazy thing one day, booked a flight one Friday night before for Saturday Melbourne and went to Sandown to watch Bomber Bills last race ( it was supposed to be but was his second L*). I followed Bomber for years and always backed him. Until his last 4 races he kept up with the young ones and he just loved racing. I didnt care if he didnt win, watching him run like he was a young effervescent 3 year old, he just loved to run. I am so glad when they retired him, he so deserved a good long rest and be looked after in his elder years. He will be 13 in September absolutely amazing he stoped racing at 11 years of age, and deservedly so.
I am so happy to hear he is in the paddock with other champions as he deserves no less Smile. He gave punters and battlers a decade plus of happiness and last time I saw him at Randwick ( his definite last race ) so many people were taking photos and just came to the fence to admire and give their goodbyes to a true champion.
God bless Bomber Bill Very Happy

Happy Punting All Smile

Gee, miracles will never cease, I got 3 yes 3 news bulletins with CW#3. I nearly fell off my study swivel chair L* as I sat in glee and couldnt wait to read each one, three line bulletins. ALAS L*, they were paragraphs and in detail. Mouth ajar my eyes glazed with excitement, lots of informative news as should be lol.
Harry will be running again soon, but they are finding it hard to get him suitable races ( the above bulletin somewhere mentioned ratings and difficultys).
Also Paw the Drinks will be going into training also and racing soon.. AMAZING as you say, a bit of noise goes a long way to get results.
Keep it up CW #1,2,3 Members lots of noise to keep our interests at heart. May the CW Member Force be with us Very Happy

Happy Punting Very Happy

P.S Hope Apache Cat wins today, love that horse since it first started, and was relatively unkown. Smile he is
the quiet achiever.

Exactly... he is CWR3 - not us... not a word on our horses. Lets stop paying Kim, thats all we are doing trainers fees. By their words," funds almost exhausted" in their Voting Paper, and cut our losses, never to see them again.

I posted this in the other thread :

"Any thoughts from Shareholders on the latest communications from Club Waugh No. 2 (the letter that was sent recently)?

The one in which they say that all funds from the syndicate are nearly exhausted? How can this be so when there should be $30,000 untouched in the kitty from Bumpa's prizemoney and the sale of King Armstrong and Scooter. None of this should have been touched because everything else was prepaid.

I would have also thought there should have been additional money not used due to unused training and vet fees from the discontinued work of King Armstrong and Scooter.

And with training fees prepaid and, therefore not missed out on, what of the grants given to Kim Waugh for each horse for missed training fees?

They've also pushed the focus on Kelendria (you know the one we paid to educate for someone else) ... saying that an overwhelming majority of respondents had expressed a desire for the syndicate to keep going with her. Way to sell it CWR2 ... when the direction was to contact them if you were interested in continuing with her, of course the overwhelming majority of respondents wanted to continue with her - they were the only ones asked to respond!!

Basically, I'm over it. I just want them to terminate the syndicate, pay up what they actually owe and never have anything to do with Kim Waugh, Mark Waugh and Robert Roulston ever again."

Well said, I hadnt thought about the money that "should have been there !!!" I want what is due to us, and NEVER ever want to hear from them again. Good luck you guys with Harry, not your fault, but just beware. Should we ask to see exactly what is in the "almost exhausted funds??" Wonder what we would get, more garbage. What a waste of Bumpa

I will definitely be raising these matters with them and seeking explanation.

I would encourage any other disgruntled CWR2 members to do likewise.

Have you guys still got accessto the financial report from last year?I know the one from cw3 is still on the website in the members area. This should give you an idea how much money was still available at june 30 2007. A couple of quick calculations should tell what should be left.Last season cw3 paid approx $44000 in training fees up to 30 june.I think cw2 should be less because you guys really only had Bumpa racing. Anyway goodluck!Smile

Well, all I can say is what a farce.... you havent had a financial report???? I cant believe you have paid for someone else to reap the rewards... Gee if you ever wanted to get into racing a horse as a shareholder this stint would really put you off it for good. ALAS do not despair CW members, we have choices, MAKE NOISES, ASK QUESTIONS and bombarde them with phone calls in Melbourne ( Roulstons Lair ) L*.
Seek ANSWERS, and find out who was asked usually you should get a form in the mail, about voting etc instead of being nonchalentely asked who wants to ( Like asking who wants to go on a picnic or a car run ) L*.
Ask for your financial report again and best to post your information on here to keep the blighters on their toes.
I WONDER if they are pressing for Kelendria, WHO THEY HAVE to purchase Bumpa ?????? hmmm makes you wonder.
If their are enough disgruntled people maybe you are able to purchase bumpa as a smaller syndicate?
Check the figures and weigh up your options, keep us posted as this is very important CW members.
MAY THE CW MEMBERS FORCE be with us ( AG05 points her sabre at Waugh, Waugh and Roulston L*)

Wrenchie I have heard absolutely NADA from anyone from the Sunday Telegraph. They interviewed Monsieur Waugh that do ( who lovingly did not mention CW#3 MEMBERS) regarding Harry Kays win. I think it was Ray Thomas who interviewed him, so I would say though, that he could have mentioned it to him.
I have mentioned this to a Trainer who knows the Waughs so I am sure word of mouth would get around.
I think a few may read this blog to, who knows but something must have been said as the CW Members website is more informative of late than ever. They are also requesting updates of Members details and contact number, so maybe the alerts or website news might be upgraded. By the looks of it, its probably Roulston himself who writes the half line blogs lol, a man of many words L*, so dont be too suprised. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. We have to keep the pressure and many times on the main page in The Sportal website our forum has been present so that in itself is good to and alerts all who are interested in the sport to read.
Some of our letters in here must wash into the industry, it is WE who make it SO not the other way around.
Keep up the pressure all its our way of fighting back and alerting all to the CW Members Cause.

Happy Punting All Smile

P.S I hope Apache Cat gets Horse of the year. Very Happy and who knows maybe Harry Kays turn will come in the years Laughing

Bsb raiderman hi Smile, thing is if the Waughs are PUSHING for Kelendria, there must be something shady they have install for Bumpa. Reselling to their own family? Someone else is on the books to buy him, something is not smelling right from the start since I first heard this. You need to ask, how much is Bumpa worth do the sums, find out there intentions, before you can even start to even put a bid in for Bumpa.
I for one would like to see Bumpa out of there and given to a better trainer and there are many good ones about.

Ray Thomas probably doesn't want to tick off Kim/Mark Waugh in case he ever needs an interview or a favour if they ever fluke a good horse that defies her efforts to f.ck it up.

Maybe try the journo that wrote the articles on the Scooter dodginess some time back. He or she might be keen for a follow-up with all else that's come to light.

TheGoToMan, hi Smile, maybe I will try the Herald, also Richard Zachariah looks unbiased as he usually dishes ( and gets dissed on at times L*) by the industry and not scared to mention it either.
That might be a good way to go, I would also think Ken Callendar is in the same boat with Ray Thomas.
I will send off the Sportal information to them and see again ( what happens or not ) and take it from there.
Good thing is at least when you hit this website Club Waugh forums news is on the main page. Those in the industry that view these blogs will be drawn to it I am sure.
Keep the pressure up CW Members ( AG05s light sabre in right hand waving L*)

To fellow CWR2 members,

Excuse my ignorance but im a bit confused about the directors resolution.

If we agree with the directors, we are selling bumpa and using those funds to continue kelandrias lease?

And if we vote against it, does that mean Bumpa will be sold and the company wound up, or will Bumpa continue racing?

Gday all, this is my first post. I am in cwr2. Have been taking solace over the past 2 weeks reading entries to this forum. To answer your question buddylove, Bumpa is getting sold...done deal. No matter how we vote ( I will be voting against!) I believe that somehow we will be told that the vote was in favour of the directors resolution. I mean who is collecting and counting the votes??...come on. The following paragraph annoyed me the most and highlighted just how vague(or deceptive) club waugh communications are.
"At this stage it has been noted that we have had a very large number of responses to our previous request for indications from Shareholders willing to continue the lease of Kelendria, with all bar two or three respondents being in favour of continuing Kelendria's lease through a separate entity if the Shareholders of Club Waugh Racing No.2 Limited vote not to do so."
1. How many people responded in favour of continuing the lease.."a very large number"..well how many exactly?
2. How many people responded against continuing the lease.."two or three"..well was it two or was it three. Can we not count to three now???? How then will you count the voting ballots...Hmmmm

I sound bitter you say...well I AM! Bumpa, although no world beater, is a horse we could have had a lot more fun with if she had been placed in more suitable races. I wrote an email approx 20mths ago suggesting Bumpa needed more ground and would perform better over 1600m and may even get 2000m. Two years was wasted running her over distances too short for her. We'll never know if 1900-2000m was to her liking. And do I need to mention the Scooter fiasco?!
Lets just wind it up and move on, I don't expect to see a cent.
Have a good mate in cwr1, and he's had it also!
You guys/gals in cwr3 have a good horse in Harrkay and he has given you all a great ride but what about your other horses? I hope I'm wrong but give it 12mths and you'll have had enough too!

Anyhow, Good luck and good punting (to quote the numbnut M.Waugh)

Hi to all CW Members #1,2,3 I found this article in the paper a while back and it makes my blood boil thinking now about the sale of Bumpa and Leasing Kelendria I will cut n paste this archive from the Adelaide Herald in December 06 to freshen our memories of the shady and DODGINESS that is Mark Waugh and Kim and Roulston.

EXCLUSIVE by Janet Fyfe-Yeomans
December 12, 2006 01:00am
Article from: Font size: + -
Send this article: Print Email
CRICKET great Mark Waugh and wife Kim are being investigated by the corporate watchdog over a horse they bought and then sold to their own racing syndicate.

One of their Club Waugh Racing syndicates, No 2 Ltd, bought brown gelding Scooter for $28,000 from Mark and his father Roger last year.

However The Daily Telegraph has learned the horse had been bought for just $11,000 a month earlier by successful Rosehill trainer Mrs Waugh at the Scone Yearling Sale on behalf of herself and her husband.

Bloodstock agent Robert Raulston, the third director of the syndicate along with Mark and Kim Waugh, recommended the syndicate buy the horse and valued it.

He said yesterday it was a good deal.

Scooter was sold last month by the syndicate for just $750 after never racing.

"Nothing was done that was wrong," Mr Raulston said.

"In the opinion of the directors, correct procedure has been followed."

A disgruntled investor has asked the Australian Securities and Investment Commission to investigate the deal and whether the No 2 syndicate breached the conditions of its prospectus, which said it had bought two yearlings and would lease another four.

Scooter was the third horse bought by the syndicate.

The prospectus promised the 400 investors, who bought shares at $1450 each, that at the end of the three years, in May 2008, shareholders would vote to continue racing or sell the horses.

"We were never advised about the commercial antecedents of the horse and were only told as a fait accompli that the decision was made to sell Scooter," said the investor, who asked not to be named.

The shareholders learned in the annual accounts in July this year that Scooter had been bought from Mark and Roger Waugh but not that it had been sold for less than half that price just a month earlier.

The investor was told by Racing NSW that it could not investigate his complaint because it involved a managed investment scheme.

However, it did say it had "formed the view that the matter ... might have been handled differently, particularly by the directors of Club Waugh 2." The investor then complained to ASIC.

Speaking on behalf of the syndicate, Mr Raulston said: "That doesn't say that it's incorrect. It does say that it could have been handled better and we might agree with that."

He said he stood by his $28,000 valuation of Scooter.

"It was valued on its worth on that particular day. Horses can change value on a daily basis," Mr Raulston said.

Mrs Waugh said the disgruntled investor was a "pain in the backside".

"He is irrelevant to us. All my club members are very nice people and we have hundreds of them and they come to functions and they are more than happy. We have this one nark," Mrs Waugh said.

A spokeswoman for ASIC said they accepted complaints on a confidential basis and were not able to confirm or deny any investigations.

Thats true about Kelandria and the 4 yo topic. They are desperate to get rid of Bumpa and one of the main arguments is that she is a rising 5 year old. Bit of a contradiction here.

Another thing, when describing that one shareholder, Mark Waugh called him a pain in the backside and that most members were nice and attended club functions. WHAT CLUB FUNCTIONS??? Laughing I only ever remember one and it was cancelled because of the EI outbreak in sydney.

What happens if the exhausted funds include the prizemoney, sale value of our horses, what if that money is gone as well???
