Kelly Pavlik vs Bernard Hopkins this Sunday.
Whats everyones predictions?? I know most people are tipping Pavlik but I can sense an upset. Hopkins is one of my favourite fighters of all time, he may well have 1 last good fight left in him.
In saying that, Pavlik is probably the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world ATM.
I've got $500 on Pavlik.

Pavlik is untested at 170, whereas Hopkins has fought most of his fights at super middleweight anyway.
Could be an upset, Hopkins is a cagey old rooster....

Pavlik beat Jermain Taylor twice, who in turn beat Hopkins twice (even though he was robbed of the first one). It should go the distance, but I'm picking Pavlik by UD

you tube it if you need reminding. I'm assuming you mean Co rrales and Ca stillo. And what a random topic. First fight was an epic, the most brutal, and exciting fight I've ever seen. Not just the final round, but the entire fight. Though I still believe Castillo would have won had Chico not cheated (mouthguard-gate) It would've been good to see them go at it again at lightweight, its a shame Castillo wouldn't get to the weight. The second fight between them was b ull*****, I never believe Castillo even tried to get to weight, and his victory means nothing. That was Castillo's turning point in his career, he's never generated the same respect or attention that he could have after that debacle, the way he treated the fans and Corrales. In my mind it ruined what could have been one of the greatest rivalrys in boxing history

Seen Many of the executioners fights he beat that guy (Should have on points he was the champ and he certainly didn't get beat) a few years ago and was cheated.Only way he'll get beat is if he gets a few grey hairs come thru

It should go the distance, but I'm picking Pavlik by UD Styles make fights just because Taylor beat Hopkins and Pavlik beat Taylor doesnt mean Pavlik will beat Hopkins...it happens all the time and come fight night Pavlik will be found out against Hopkins. coming upto 170 to fight Hopkins is a death wish...all the top boxers have tried have got beaten quite badly...Trinidad,Oscar, Winky...Pavlik will be added to that list.

You gotta remember that Pavlik is not a natural middleweight. He is quite tall and a big build, and has had many months to physically prepare for this fight, so shouldn't have any dramas filling his physique. Plus he's always had power at middleweight, so the extra weight training will do him wonders. Like you mentioned, Hopkins has a tendency to beat up on little guys, he's never really fought a 'big' light heavy, so if Pavlik is physically prepared he can definately make this fight his own

I agree but another thing is if there evenish it's who performs better on the night and who wants it more plus luck especially the bigger they get. Every big punch to the head is like they fought an extra round slows em up a little bit.

I don't think he's announced it yet but I'd be expecting him start fighting at Middleweight from now on. There have been reports that he is to face Uragurian boxer Rafael Sosa Pintos next month, but from people I've spoken to this is still not a certainty. Never heard of Pintos, but apparently he is a good boxer in Uraguary, but yet to be tested overseas

Hopkins is underated Because of his time in Jail easily Along side Mayweather and Lewis as the best in the last 10 years anyone who can hold the title and prove people wrong time and time again deserves better than "Tendency to beat up on little Guys" . Age is the only reason he'll lose he is a true champion . If Pavlik wins today and holds the title for the next 3-4 years he might be judged in the same catergory as the Executioner .

I think B-Hop should retire now, couldn't think of a better way. Did you see him tear up at the end?? You could see this was one of his best wins

I've got $500 on Pavlik. I should have gone on my gut instinct. $500 poorer... Hopefully India can get up in the cricket, that'll take some of the blow.
