I was happy to watch a decent close match for a change in these finals but by half time i'd jumped on the Hawthorn bandwagon.
Up until half time 3 of the Cats 6 goals were directly from free kicks (5 out of the total of 11 from free kicks in the whole game and Hawthorn had none). The footballing gods had to work hard to get the better team a fair go and a win.

Absolutely ridiculous, but thankfully it matters not.

No mate, 1 week on one week off, Thursday to Thursday. You need to do a bit more work on those detective skills of yours.

THey have a sensational midfield but there is far too much hype over their forward line. I left out Williams because I can't see a role for him if they are going to play the other three talls. He does not play as a small crumbing forward but as a lead up key option. I think Roughead may have to go back if they are to play Williams forward. Now let's look at Collingwood: Rocca gets a lot of criticism but still takes the more contested marks than any Hawthorn player. He has to be rated ahead of Boyle. Rusling averaged more goals per game than Roughead playing out of full forward. Cloke won the best and fairest and whilst not as flamboyant as Franklin is still a very consistent hit up forward. FRanklin obviously shades him. But in the small forwards Didak, Davis and Thomas Collingwood clearly leads Hawthorn. I don't think this argument is as clear cut as you make out. I just want to bring this one back to remind some of the collingwood supporter what you all thought at the start of the year. This is one of many. bahhhhhhh

Haha yeah, I am about to go out and 'earn' another one (hangover)! Never in my wildest dreams at the start of the season did I think we would be premiers, but it happened. Seeing the fellas lift the cup was unbelievable, reminded me of the days as a young tacca, where it didn't mean as much becuase we won them all of the time! What did you win in the tipping comp?

You're bit a late mate. Dawks flag is old news, happened over two days ago. Where you been? I've copped a hiding from all the boys the last few days (except Podgy, he refused to back the Hawks in the GF), but you missed the boat unfortunately. Cricket season now, and 09 beckons.

A Far North Queensland house and land package (valued at $650,000), a brand new Toyota Camry (valued at $40,000), a whopping $10,000 cash, and the biggest packet of orange tic-tacs you've ever seen!! Of course, I organised the tipping comp, and in actual fact we played for nothing but glory...and I got all the glory!!!! Tons of it. Seeing the boys with the premiership cup...brown and gold everywhere...the club song in my ears...cold beer in my tatty Hawks stubbie holder, in my hand...in a room draped in brown & gold...it was the moment of my lifetime. You're right. All those premierships in the 70's, 80's & '91 just weren't as emotional as this. It's been a long, long, hard time coming...and to finally get there...it was gold, absolute gold.
