With finals only a few rnds away its probably time to decide how to work it.
Easy enough to do it in here with the same format as the webiste...only takes 5 mins to collate the scores each each week and post them.
9th place on the ladder come end of rnd 18 going thu to finals starting rnd 19 ...anyone down to 12th can still make finals by the looks of it.
We can simply xfer the scores from the site into here with same format to determine the winner.
Its about as simple and fair as u get but can be done any other way u like...all ideas welcome.

We CAN yes. But my understanding was that early in the season noone wanted to reward the bloke who purposefully gained an advantage on the others...i.e. cheated. If people were miffed about it when we started then it seems silly to reward it now...or it may be tried again next yr. Its easy to do...we did it last yr in here....just list the scores in the thread. You actually end up with more trash talking and genral natter about the games too. Plus..EVERYONE can see what is going on rather than just the 16 in that league. There's a lot of other guys not in the #1 league that can then talk about it or compare how they're going to the league. We've got a cpl of weeks to decide so there's no rush.

So you are basically saying we s***** Sydney Tunnelers from the finals?? Does that mean i get my 4 points back from last weekend, cause he beat me the *****... I dont mind what we do. I dont think he is a certanty to win it, but yes he has had a distinct advantage starting after 2 rounds! Wonder how many trades he has left?? I am wondering what to do with the porpose? It seems i get an injury per week. Will depend on my eliminator opponent...

Well it'd come as no surprise to him i imgaine...hasnt even worked up the pluck to show his face in here. We all knew the massive advantage he got at the start meant it was unlikely anyone else COULD win...but its up to everyone to decide. If/When he wins it what happens ?...the rest of them didnt try to rort it. I'm guessing it'd simply result in everyone being pi$$ed off and the whole thing having being a complete waste of time for no result. No idea yet what to do with Porplyzia...will wait and read more. I'm finished anyway coz i simply havent been able to upgrade anyone...just fix injuries at the rate of 2 per week for as long as i can remember. Now got King and Porp this week with Purgoyne still out and Kennelly's detachable shoulder. Over it. Hopefully have more luck next yr.

Well i guess we need to have a vote?? I'm seriously considering getting Lucas for Porp? Very risky but it would allow me to upgrade Palmer to Corey. I was going to go Palmer to Ablett after he drops down to low 400s but might just get Corey now since Ablett is injured. Thoughts on Lucas??

I'd guess at least 7 maybe 10. No injuries at the start and everyone that started well went on his books including all the gun kids. Whilst i understand that you and others in with a genuine shot wouldnt admit it ...i imagine u'd be miffed not being on a level playing field from the start...can only get more uneven when u hit finals and he can pick and choose to replace injuries and upgrade to 100% guns whilst others cant. Need more input on it. needless to say tho it'd probably be even better just to do the finals in this thread..same as last yr...gets everyone talking too.

Well 7 to 10 trades left means he really should win - his team is pretty solid already. I doubt anyone else would have many more than 5 left. I was quite vocal against his team selection methods at the start (along with you), and nothing much has changed!! It definitely is not a level playing field. You are right - we should bring the finals in here to generate some more chat!!

another suggestion is that we could run a finals series in here based on the overall scores - sydney tunnellers is over 2000 points back on 8, I don't think he could make that up in the next 4 rounds!
Also, that advantages people who have done well overall, but haven't got the results in the league - eg someone like shifty who is in the top 700 but isn't even in the top 4 of the league. Also Athomas' team is 6th but is top 4 in the overall standings.
Any thoughts?

Thats the biggy i reckon. Been very quiet this yr with no trash talking and not many involved. Got a few mods on the books as backup so it might be much better fun. Plus those that dont make the 8 can get stuck in as well. We could run a book on the winner...we can do anything. If its left in the website it'll peter out with a whimper judging by the way it has been.

Yeah could be a good idea. Feel sorry for Magoo tho as he missed week 1 cause of the server stuff up. However, it wont effect me because i'm number 1 in both league table and overall points!!! haha (thought id start throwing some chat!)...

what the? I thought you were the one who wanted to work it so that ST would not be in the finals?? =S Or did I misunderstand? And besides, its not hard, look: 1. Tmans Team 2100 29302 40 2. Shifty's XVIII 2134 29120 32 3. Spitzers Call Girl 2081 28630 36 4. Alex's All Starz 1752 28417 32 5. Sam's FFC 1850 28375 24 6. SeeTheBombersFlyUp 1823 28064 20 7. samstars 1980 28062 24 8. Swan4brownlow 1932 27766 28 so rd 1 of finals would be: Tmans Team v Alex's All Starz Shifty's XVIII v Spitzers Call Girl winners go to prelim, losers to semis Others Sam's FFC v Swan4brownlow SeeTheBombersFlyUp v samstars Winners go to semis, losers are out SEMIS PRELIMS GF Piece of p-ss!

keyzer soze wrote:i'm not in your league but can i ask what this Sydney Tunnellers did that was so bad? Its not so much "bad"..but he gained an enormous advantage over the field by waiting till rnd 3 before registering the team. Means he could see which kids got picked...which guys were starting well...which guys got injured (eg Lucas)..etc. Means u save a hellova lot of trades and takes away the decison of who to pick at the start. Doesnt help when someone purposefully tries to gain an advantage. He'd entered teams from rnd 1 in another league so everyone knew he;d purposefully waited to gain an advantage in this league. Probably did it coz he talked himself up last yr then crashed, burned and choked something fierce in the finals and got flogged. Maybe he didnt trust his own abilities this season and thought he needed an advantage. Anyway...we knew it would be near impossible for that team not to finish minimum top 2 or win it from the start due to the huge advantage...so its only a matter of determining whether it qualifies. Most ruled him out from the start...its actually better to do finals in here anyway coz it creates more talk and interest.
