Australia have ther backs to the wall, and that is when they perform at there best historically. Australia will still be number 1 test nation after this series regardless, that is where consistant performances help you.
India may well win this series but then lose a series to NZ or SL, the exact reason why they never threaten rankings wise
Who cares about NZ or SL when we can win against Australia? Seriously though, I'm hoping that'll change. Maybe with the impending overhaul, it will. And the fact that we've finally gotten a half-way decent pace attack.

We've gotten away with a couple of Tests in Aus against you guys in the last couple of tours (and we came pretty damn close to winning the '03-'04 series as well). I'd say that's a lot more than most teams can claim these days, don't you?

And you are not a clear number 2 in the world. For the reasons I have already explained.

Okay, that last sentence totally confused me, but "move on" sounds good.

No one can beat australia in australia, they will throw eggs on players.. bribe the umpires.. ask the opposition for a boxing match.. go on the radio and call them nasty names.. plus the third umpire will cheat too..

JM this is why I think sub cont cricket is a waste of my time, the game is nothing it is all about off field going ons and name calling. This series and the ones gone in the past are a blight on cricket from both sides. South Africa is a series that is played hard and 99.9% fair give me them and ENg,WI and even NZ anyday. I enjoy watching cricket and garbage that is severe up with the off rubbish is a joke. I know you not interested in the results on field JM but hope you enjoy the carrying ons that they serve up.

My thoughts exactly, I used to hang out for the India tests, they used to be my second favourite team. But now I just cringe and think what's the point even if we win the Indian fans will come up with some ridiculous paranoid dilusional conspiracy theory as to why they lost, completely ruining the series. Why even bother playing them? It makes me wonder if so many of them think this sort of thing goes on then what does that say about them?

Early days with Ranatunga set the seal on them when he came out with the world against us attitude, and at times it still shows.

You missed the whole point. The reason that you dont like Sub-Continent cricket is bcos of the Off the field add-ons.. Unfortunately Opaque the Aussies were the ones who started the same.. Indians on the contrary learnt what the Aussies did and that has made matters worse.. Unfortunately the Aussies cant take what they dished out.. Let me be more precise, sledging has always been there but the mental disintegration thing was perfected by Steve Waugh.. I am a big fan of Steve, forunately he knew what he was doing.. He only went as far as it was necessary and he had players like McGrath n Warne who would save him when his back was against the Wall.. Unforunately people like Symonds, Hayden and Ponting thought that this was the norm and they could go as far as they can + people like Ranatunga, Harbhajan and Sreesanth made matters worse.. Like it or leave it the Sub-continent has made valuable contribution to cricket and it is an Art to bat on turning tracks.. If the Aussies and Poms cant do it,, they can cry "Sour Grapes.."

JM go and read the other post you have add here on differant subjects, It has nothing to do what goes on the field and when that happens i couldn't care less. It's a pity when garbage get more publicity in the press and other places (such as Here) than the ability that what is going on on the ground.

It is sad that you cosider the "other" stuff as the deciding factor.. and my posts are only for the people who buy the idea.. you are much more wise...

Maybe but my disinterest of sub cont cricket goes back to the 70's and nothing since has happened there to change it if anything it has got worse. To much off field cr@p as we have seen in the last 2 or 3 series and untill that stops "nothing"
