Yes the result was one sided. The hits were massive in the opening exchange , some of the tries were spectacular and the fairy tale for the beaver was delivered. Far from boring. Maybe not one of the greats , but far from boring.

The last 2 weeks of the finals left me feeling a little bit empty with the losing team only scoring once (Warriors) in those 3 games. All games were decided not long after half time I just like to see a close game, not a blow-out.

So the first and third in Attack this year are boring sides ?.

The Storm has the most exciting team in the competition, Slater is in career best form, Cronk is in career best form, Inglis will play five-eighth for the last time in a long while since they signed Taumata from the Bulldogs to cover that role next season.

This is what absolutely stuns me with this post, You believe that Manly the best attacking side in the competition is the most boring ?.

You sound like a very over-rated poster to me.

I'm pretty sure everyone has slammed Melbourne for being boring at some stage over the last 2 years. THrough the ruck, kick to folau or Inglis. Even Sterlo slammed them at some stage this year and he makes as much sense as anyone.

If the storm were the most exciting team in the competition, then you obviously did not watch some of the raiders games in the back half of the season, or the warriors, or the broncos or tigers, knights, titans, even dragons.. take your pick...

Manly play a similar style to the Storm. So yes they were 2 of the most boring teams, Cronulla is up there.

Manly vs Melborne was a great GF. Was so good to see the Storm getting blown out of the parka dn menzies geta try in his last game. Usually results like that are average. but when I a team beats a side 40-0 that hasnt lost by more than 20 points all season, finished minor prems and have never been kept scoreless all season that is a fantastic result to watch. If it was close than it just would have been another Storm v manly gameSmile

I think this Grand Final was one you had to be at the ground to enjoy if you were not a Manly supporter
I estimate 70,000 of the 80K in the ground were there supporting Manly & they were loud & boistrous
I lent toward Melbourne on the day but the good will support they had in previous years was non existent & who ever was there in purple had nothing to cheer anyway.

I was down the Nthn end when Menzies scored his try the Noise was deafening .... it is rare to get that at ANZ but I must say a little tingle went up the spine when it happened.

it was a shame it wasn't a contest from halftime onwards ... but Manly were brilliant & the football they played was breath taking, & the Manly fans ensured the ground was rocking !

I thought the first night G.F. Between Knights & Eels '01 was imo the most boring big Game ever completely over before halftime and you knew no comeback was happening. I still remember it vividly for the let down.
