It's funny, cause today's Daily telegraph says that Rangi Chase and Simon Woolford will both play with either Prior, Thorby or Reynoldson to drop off.

Why are the Raiders not playing Costigan and Weyman? They played pretty good in the QLD cup last week. I thought that might get them back in especially after the Raiders performance against the Broncs.

I'm guessing that Weymann is in 2nd grade because he has signed with the Dragons for next year, so he is no longer part of the future of the Raiders they won't bother bringing him along.

Costigan - he has to play a certain number of games each year for his contract to continue. If he doesn't play that specified number then his contract can be terminated at the end of that particular year. It's the "legal" way of getting rid of him. In my opinion it is just as bad a club doing that to a player as it was SBW leaving the Bulldogs mid contract. SBW had a valid point.

Wrong again Wanderer, just like your "can't get suspended for shoulder-charging in union" and your "coaches get sacked all the time without compensation".

Costigans games in the QLD cup count towards activating the option of extending his contract. There's no difference if he plays for Souths Logan or the raiders in regards to his contract negotiations. He is unfit and overweight. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released.

did you watch him play in the QLD cup match. He might be overweight but he is by no means unfit. Very damaging performance.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Sounds like someones keeping tabs on me and getting it badly wrong. I've never said anything about "can't get suspended for shoulder-charging in union". I hardly even follow the game. Try again next timeLaughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
And you still haven't produced evidence for the coaches bit, and to think that you thought Friday Night Football out-rated Better Homes and Gardens, and then there's your lame thread in the Football Forum where you were embarrassed to not go back............but i'm on going to go on about your stuff ups, i'd be here all day and night.

My understanding is Costigans contract stipulated he play a certain amount of First Grade games. It had nothing to do with Souths Logan. So it seems your "guessing" is wrong again. But i'm thinking you are just trying to make this personal, it certainly comes across that way.Surprised

I'm pretty sure you were proven wrong on the coaches front. And I apologise it was your mate Bateman who looked like a complete goose by claiming you couldn't get suspended in union for shoulder charges. You claimed they were trying to get rid of shoulder charges from league, not as stupid as Bateman but up there.

There are plenty of reports stipulating he must play "10", "12" or "13" NRL games - all of them vary on the number of games, and all vary on the consequences if he doesn't. I think its slightly different to the Kirk Reynoldson situation in that he must "be available for selection" for a certain number of games, rather than actual playing.

Sorry Wander you are wrong on the Costigan thing this time(QLD cup games are counted), Costigan can now activate the option of another year at Canberra but knows he is not wanted thats why he is checking out Melbourne and Souths.

Not sure what happened with the coaches thing but if sacked must be paid out, most coaches agree on a figure that is not the full contract value, but can fight the payoutif they want.

Some of it may be old news, but I enjoy having it compacted in to one location for easy access.

So thanks Tim.

Yeah Gerry, I wouldn't even bother responding to Bill. He's a tool.

I think everyone else really appreciates the thread. I know I for one really like the weekly summary. I live in Perth so there is nothing about league in the paper and I can't always peruse the different websites searching for the late changes to teams, so it is a really helpful thread.

I have no idea who this Bateman guy is, that's another boo-boo from you.

Here is the link for Costigans contract:

http://theadvocate.yourguide.com.au/news/national/national/sport/nine-in-a-row-or-neville-resigned-to-being-a-nobody/809878.aspx

If you didn't know that or that shoulder charges were looked at to be banned not so long ago then i'm guessing your a newby to league.
