My personal opinion is that they will go with Medhurst instead of Dids

Medhurst should take the small-forward spot this year but SJ is right on his tail.

OK, who at your club do you think -

1 - Are a certainty to make the AA side?
2 - Will be very close?
3 - Should make the top 40?
4 - Outside chance at top 40?

At the Cats, the players that fall into each category are -

1 - Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett
2 - Johnson, Enright, Harley, Corey, Ling
3 - Selwood, Mackie
4 - Chapman, Kelly, Mooney

With Didak out of contention, I would have thought you'd be pumping up Stokes again Smile

He has had a pretty decent year so far (17.5 possessions, 1.7 goals per game ave, equal 12th for goal assists with 17) there are just too many other small forwards more worthy.

Steve Johnson "should" be a near certainty though as he is having an even better year then last averaging 20 possessions, 6 marks and 2.1 goals a game. He is also 3rd on the list of goal assists (19), behind only Cam Mooney (24) and Luke Power (20).

I'd put him ahead of the likes of Ryan O'Keefe and Robert Murphy (who many have in their side) as he has similar stats to O'Keefe (who averages 21 possessions 5 marks) but has kicked 18 more goals (38 to 20) and more assists (19 to 15) and more possessions, goals and goal assits then Murphy (12 more goals, 3 more assists, although i think Murphy has missed a game or 2?? maybe)

Add Sam Mitchell to that list. Is still leading the way with clearances, is leading the Age player of the year award, and is playing consistently well. He has to be playing centre

My AA side at this stage of the year (may change once i see the top 40)

Harley Scarlett Morris
Mattner Bock Enright
Cooney Mitchell Richardson
Pavlich Franklin S. Johnson
Medhurst Fevola Akermanis
Cox Ablett Bartel
Hille Corey R. O'Keefe B Harvey

Unlucky -
Riewoldt - Started the year very slow, too many other forwards
J Brown - Too many other big forwards performing well
Didak, H Shaw (both would have been very close except for club suspensions, will be interesting if AA selectors take this into account, they probably shouldn't)
R Murphy - Low goal output for a main forward target (same with O'Keefe, but he has been Sydneys best all year)
Fisher - Harley takes the third tall defender role
Milburn - See above.. Toss up for Mattners position
S Thompson - Too many other midfielders, couldn't squeeze him in.
S Black - As above
B Kirk - As Above
C Ling - As Above
C Judd - " " "
J Selwood - " "

Backline is the trickiest as there are a number of defenders who do brilliant jobs with low posession outputs that don't get the limelight/recognition and so I'm not as aware of them.

Good effort. Not to sure about having 3 medium style forwards in Medhurst, Aker and Stevie J all starting on the field to go with O'Keefe on the bench. Probably put an extra tall (either Riewoldt or J. Brown) in there as a replacement for one of them (not sure who though - possibly SJ). Backs are strong but I still rate S. Fisher as having a stronger chance then Mattner. Also good to see Dale Morris in your team as he has had a very underrated season this year and should be selected.

Would be great to see Harvs in there, but would also be unfair.
