haha scalabrine had to do something to earn his paycheque..
I agree with the wheelchair comment.. why would you risk walking on a joint if you had an inkling that something could be wrong?

I did not watch every minute of every game as I dont have fox but I watched several games and all highlights and I thought that Ray Ray, for the sweetest and most consistent shooter I have seen, went very cold for large parts during games. Pierce was always going to get MVP if he played even half decently because he has been the heart and soul of the Celts for so long now and they could'nt over look him but honestly, in the overall entirety of the finals, I thought he was the best and most consistent player. Which doesn't mean he was the best every game but he was top 2 or 3 every game while the best player was always changing.

And no I don't believe he hurt himself very bad but I do believe that at the moment he fell, he was extremely worried and panicky and the only reason he was in a wheelchair was cos the trainers told him to be. And so Scalabrine had something to do (he was carrying him, BAH).

Agreed on panicking. I think the comment he made in the OP-quoted article just highlights that he doesn't always think well on his feet.
But best and most consistent? No... not even close. You can't go for 6 points in a game and get that. There was one game where he was amazing, 4 games where he was good, and one game where he was abso-effing-lutely dreadful.
The piece you wrote that I italicized is dead on. Pierce was always going to win it.

Agreed. Much in the same way that many people (me not included) think that Kobe's MVP was a lifetime achievement award and not an objective view of the season

Especially after Game 1, Pierce was a shoe-in.

Since I've been alive, Karl Malone is the only true recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award. Two of them in fact.

A very sad day indeed. The darkest of days for the NBA. I almost crossed over and started watching the Professional TEn Pin Bowling circuit. Some absolute hornbags in there....

aw get over it guys...
hes just won a ring and was the finals mvp of the team.
Sure hes not the best player in the nba and he never labeled himself that before he won.
If you look at it he was the best player on the best team in the nba over the playoffs. A very provocative and not so true comment but he can say what he wants when hes in the that position.

If it was tracey mcgrady or wince carter then yes it would be even more absurd

No I'm afraid on this one mate there is no defense for Paul. Your argument is basically "If you win a team sport you can spout your mouth and ego off as much as you like..." I mean, how was Paul before they got KG and Ray Ray- oh thats right bottom of the NBA. Yep definitely where the leagues elite reside....

Paul Pierce you should stop worshipping yourself and be thankful for KG and Ray Ray.... Even T-Mac and Wince would have won a championship with them in toe...
