Surely he is the best player on offer now and pick 1 or 2 will take him, despite what they say about his personal life? Yeah like other people said it's just like the national draft, however of the teams who have said they will consider picking him the team with the first pick is the Lions, so unless one of the teams before them in the picks changes their mind, Brisbane will have first pick for him.

Yeah but they're puncy little weeds who don't rely on their physical fitness to win. Not a criticism *coughs*, just a fact. If they can't ride, communicate with their horse, and whack the ***** out of them for 20 seconds, they're hopeless. Can't see a reason why snorting some baking soda would change that. Be worse actually.

I hope Benny comes back successfully, and I don't really have a hassle with him being tested, but I do think that if he (who has never tested positive or had a drug conviction) is being tested at this level, then those players who HAVE tested positive should be treated the same.
Wow, that was a horrible sentence.

if he tests positive, does the club who picks him up lose premiership points?

It wouldn't matter where Ben Cousins went to play, he would have the media hype around him anywhere he goes.
But it would be a little easier for him to settle himself in the Brisbane lifestyle...
i hope it's not the surfer/weed lifestyle he settles into.... along with everyone, i hope he has a cracker of a year and sorts his life out...still wish the pies would take a punt on him

Looks like Cousins is not happy at all about the testing he will have to go through. http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,24673852-23211,00.html

Some interesting discussion coming one would suspect. His detractors will claim he should do it otherwise what is he hiding and his supporters will argue the unfairness of it all. The AFLPA have already started to weigh in on it as well. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,24670785-19742,00.html

3 Urine tests a week does seem a little heavy, thought 1 a week would be sufficient enough, along with those hair folicale tests.
When would those 3 urine tests take place, if it's before a training session that would & should be okay, but if it's any other time outside of training I could understand his issues with all the testing...

The headline of today's paper said he doesn't want play. Good on him he should tell the AFL to stick it up their ginger. Then he can go and write a tell all book that pulls no punches. He'll make a fortune.
