Why does this guy keep being picked?? He has been out of touch all year, and looks lethargic every time he runs the ball, yet somehow keeps his spot every week. He's a superstar when on top of his game, but sadly he is not at the moment. Kahui is playing out of his skin, I'd have him ahead of Siti, even Tuitavake who runs hard every time he has the ball and is always asking questions of the defence would be a better option at the moment.

I think that this test is his last chance to step up - Hosea Gear's also been playing well and should get another shot.

Im more concerned about Smith always being chosen. Kahui should be there every time. Surely NZ rugby has a better alternative.

kahui wont be back on the wing, now that rokocoko is back to full fitness kahui is being considered as a specialist centre

The coaches have stated outright that they Kahui a specialist centre first and foremost. He and Smith will be in constant competition for that starting spot.
My preference is Smith - they already have strong runners in Nonu and on the wing, but what the Cardiff loss last year showed (among other things) was the need for a midfield General. They lacked that by omitting Aaron Mauger, but Smith provides that calming influence and can maintain control - those top two inches are worth a lot.
In saying that, Kahui would always do an admirable job; though do note that he hasn't had a good game yet against a real quality side at centre. He played Oz in Sydney and was made a fool of; every other time he played SA or Oz was on the wing, which just isn't the same.
As for the wings, my picks are Rokocoko and Gear - why they persist with Sivivatu is beyond me - though maybe this is his last chance?

He's extremely lazy,BUT he has that ability to pop up when us Kiwis need him the most.

I like the look of Kahui as our long term centre. I agree that Smith is an intelligent player but he just lacks the dynamism that we need in my opinion. He's a good counterpoint to Nonu but then again I've never been a fan of Nonu either, still too one dimensional and temperamental for me. If McAllister returns that could be a very interesting option - Carter at 10, McAllister 12 & Kahui 13.

How many other wings pop up in midfield at 2nd and even 1st reciever to distribute and help put phases together? his finishing ability is already world class and he is adding more skills to his arsenal.
