It has Wrecked the World Cup to a fair degree because it makes Australia unbeatable. Petero and Hunt Should be paying for Fiji And N.Z. on the logic that is being used. Not sure where Israel's family is from A couple other strange biased decisions have been made as well i don't understand why we need things to suit us it's not like we are going to get beat and need to resort to whatever it takes to win like the cricket.

If you want to get technical, Israel's heritage is Tongan.

Based on your statement only full blood Indigenous Australians should wear the green and gold, because obviously Anglo heritage courses through the veins of Price, Lockyer, Cam Smith etc.

On that "logic" Great Britain would be unbeatable, and you would have something else to whinge about.

It's a bigger problem than just during World Cup tournies.

NRL players have, built into their contracts, clauses that allow for increased payments for representitive matches. The simple fact is that, playing in the NRL in Australia allows access to more rep games that should a player of Fijian heritage maintain links only with their birth nation. By adopting Australian citizenship they get access the City/Country, SoO and Australian rep games - all which help out considering a football career averages around 10 years. Why do you think K.Hunt's decision to abandon NZ was made easier? Instead of playing one or two tests a year in black and white he has the opportunity at playing 5 or 6 games a year in Maroon or Green and Gold. That's quite a few dollars difference. SBW pushed for Islander participation in SoO for the same reasons, not because he had a passion to rep for NSW.

The answer is to limit these players to country of birth? Expect to see them take the first opportunity to switch to Union. That's pretty much a certainty.

The only other viable process is the one we have in place.

There is no perfect answer for this problem. Its like the star wars dude said this is the best process we have.

We should all remember hunt wasn't in contention for SOO or an Aussie jumper when he choose. Maybe when you sign your NRL contract you should have to state what country you want to play for?

The Rugby League World Cup has never been more than a three horse race...Australia are levels above the other two, and it therefore rests upon those nations to reach the required level.

As for your childish taunts, just shows what a fucktard you are.

whinger

If everyone has to play where they were born half that NZ team would be playing for Samoa

The only way the poms can improve is to stop importing so many players from australia and develop their own.

This will also help keep the nrl strong.

The answer isn't to make Australians who have a great great grandmother from Eng play for Eng

How many Australian players are there in the England squad? How many times has it happened in the past? Extremely rarely. The Australian players in the ESL do not go on to represent England.

Thirty years ago the argument to improve the standard of English RL was to import Australian players and learn off them. Then came SL and the alignment of the two competitions which meant players could no longer play both comps and had to make a decision.

The simple fact is that the English RL talent pool is pretty shallow and has to compete with the soccer juggernaught full on as well as a very, very strong Rugby culture (much stronger than here). The answer is to build the code from the ground up or, sad to say, leave England where it is and focus of the Pacific nations and the rest of Europe.

Surprise attack..........

Then come out with something about it being a heritage dance from the era of the plague............

I just think the whole draw is f-ed up. Putting the three best teams in the one pool, then giving that pool three berths to the semi-finals - then of all the other teams there is one spot ... it was all for tv ratings and makes it seem a bit sad.
