That's why Rugby in NSW especially is broke, it's why most if not all the Premiership Clubs are on the brink of financial ruin,
many on the brink of extinction and that Rugby in general in this country is losing out to all the other football codes. It is poorly managed choosing to pander to too many ordinary players who are paid for very ordinary contributions, you may be one such ordinary performer, then again you've probably never played the game at any decent level preferring to hide in the shadows of those who have.

Regardless of either - you've got a mouth like an empty bucket and an even emptier skull.Idea

mate you are a FUCKING MORON...

The reason NSW went BROKE is because The incompetent LOONS on the NSWRU board who are only looking out for themselves... Thats why the ARU bailed them out

2ndly what Sydney clubs are near being broke ? Southern dist...Penrith...parra... maybe

but is Syd uni, Randwick Easts Eastwood??? hell no and these are THE CLUBS PAYING PLAYERS!!!These are also the clubs with the biggest players number, best sponsors and well run clubs houses.

Im sorry if want a fair and level playing field go to subbies r... if you want rugby to succeed then club rugby needs to...and guess what,

YOU HAVE TO GET THE PLAYERS EARLY!

why would a talented young player play rugby for free, when he has a offer from jersey flegg League??? THIS IS A NO BRAINIER.

Many rugby clubs in Sydney are doing a wonder job paying colts players a a very modest wage, which HELPS THEM concentrate on rugby!!- they don't need a part time job if there studying...and if these players are not in study the clubs also help them into a career path.

If you think that paying a few select colts players a couple of hundred bucks a week, is the reason why clubs rugby is suffering you need you head examined! - these clubs spend more on sausages FOR FUCKS SAKE

Sure Clubs has suffered in the last few years due to the pathetic lack of attention, focus and funding the ARU has given Club rugby all over Australia.

BUT the Sydney clubs I have mentioned have put in onus on themselves TO SURVIVE. To keep the best players in there clubs and IN RUGBY...And the other club need to realize if the ARU isn't gonna help them...they need to help themselves. (Parra is starting to do this) if they just sat around on there asses and whinged like you, we wouldn't even have a club comp left!

I have obviously hit a nerve, but no need to throw insults - you did start that tone so don't blame anybody coming back at you as I did calling you a "bucket mouth".

I wasn't referring to NSW when they were bailed out by the ARU - I'm talking about right now at this very moment! The coffers are bare.

Now it seems to me that you have a very large chip on your shoulder, now if that is because you are a supporter of a club that is endangered and that makes you nervous then I understand, but don't start throwing accusations and uninformed comment around in a bully-boy way it won't be taken seriously.

You mentioned clubs that are not on the brink UNI, Randwick, Easts and Eastwood - one of those is already under financial administration.

Club rugby has been treated poorly by both the ARU and NSW - I do think however that change is on the way - let's hope so.

Nothing I have said is a whinge it's not in my nature so don't make silly comments to the contrary.

I am a great supporter of Club Rugby and have put a great deal of time and money into fighting its cause with the powers that be. I say this to you only to give you some perspective of my commitment to the club cause - so please don't offend me.

I will not be responding to any more of your comments, but hope you and your club, but mostly rugby itself thrives over the ensuing years

mate im all for paying players...Sooooooo no chip here.............Arrow maybe you need to re-read my post..

As for offending YOU ...you seem quite able to make false and inappropriate assumptions about people yourself.

Thirdly your reply is cop out. I gave heaps of examples why paying players is important to club rugby...your response?

....waiting

All you gave back was insults and a bunch of airy fairy nonsense... a bunch of generalizations and a history lesson about club rugby.

And come lets get real, it seems the only reason you Won't respond to my comments is because you've been caught out to be fraud, so cut out the 'wounded lamb' caper!! At least be honest that you haven't the foggiest idea what goes on in club administration and how paying players...in this case colts.... is well managed and allocated by a lot of clubs.

It an absolute joke to suggest colts payments are forcing clubs broke- they a such a minor expense.

So again, I wait an educated responses to my examples for being pro payments.... or have you been exposed for what you are...a shit stirrer?

we shall see...

P.S

Maybe if you didn't spurt so much B.S may language would be a lot more civil.........well maybe Razz

Bateman and rugby4ever.........here is the moron. Both of you make valid points but the truth of the matter is that NSW Rugby have been giving each and every club over $85K in grants annually. Clubs like Eastwood and Parra are on the brink of financial collapse. In Parra's case, it is solely because of disgraceful management processes by the previous general manager..........who is now at Randwick. Did you know, Parra were even paying players 50 bucks to turn up to training. That all adds up over a 22 week season 2 nights a week.

Nice to see a quality comment and response:

Thanks for the truth.

Terrible shame about Eastwood - Major sponsor went belly-up leaving the club in dire straits. The reality is that since the introduction of Super 14 Club Rugby has gradually been devalued, the introduction last year of a full home and away competition was the first real attempt in a long time to re-establish the Shute Shield as a bona fide competition, with rep' players and even Wallabies getting the chance to play at least one or two games for their clubs. This at least gave potential sponsors some value for their injected dollars - alas the credit-crunch is hear and will without doubt seriously dent the sponsorship dollar for many clubs. Like it or not cuts have to be made in operating costs.

In principal I have no problem with young guys getting some financial reward, but the limited money in the game at Club level doesn't allow for it.

If a young guy is showing promise/talent that could lead to higher honours then the representative provinces, should be looking to secure them via selective and regional Academies. In Sydney regional Academies under the jurisdiction of the ARU should be set up to cater for a particular region, say, Outer West Metro', Southern Districts, Northern Beachs/North Shore Sydney Metro, etc

perhaps guys who are invited to train at these acadamies could be reimbursed expenses, get help with education/work

Thanks again truthful one
