There are plenty of props who could have a go. What Deans is doing is creating a player base for the future and he obviously sees something in Alexander that maybe others dont.

I think its great that Deans is doing that - but im just interested if anyone else has seen any other props worthy of a super 14 position / Australian team.
Its also great that finally baxter is getting a rest- hopefully for good

There are a couple of young props coming through - young Slipper in Queensland has a hugh rap from those above and is doing everything right at this stage. As we all know, props are like a good red wine, they take years to mature into something good. backs on the other hand are like a good champagne, quick, very impressive at first but are gne after a few years.

Ben Alexander is a really good prop. He's excelent in open play, a rare talent which many fairly deem unnecessary but handy none-the-less. He is limited in that only plays loosehead, but he's an extremely skilled and talented front-rower. He's the future.

The good thing is if you don't have spine you can't be bent
