What a jinx! Nice work. Sehwag is constantly full steam ahead. So if you can't get him out, be prepared to fetch for a while...

I saw only the 1st hour of match , sehwag was 4not out in around 30 balls. Now, just checked scorecard. How agressively he batted after tht, its crazy.

Oh.. You're right Heusie.. No jinx at all...
But how often do they happen? You see on tele when the commentator informs us that there's been no boundary for 83 balls.. What happens next ball? Boundary!

Yawn. Another lifeless pitch another draw on the cards. I think this has to be a deliberate and cynical ploy from Lalit Modi and the BCCI to kill test cricket in the Subcontinent.

Lifeless Pitch ?? This is a green top. SriLanka didnt have the seamers to exploit it in the morning. I was suspecting 1 27-4 It is flat now that the moisture has dried up but you can see a lot of movement in Kanpur in early mornings. As far as Test cricket is concerned very soon it will be played only by 4 or 5 nations. You can already count WI/Pakistan/Bangladesh out of it.

Love it when Sehwag is on!!!!! That is why he should never be dropped, EVER!! He is always only one shot away from top form, and we he is on, he destroys everyone and puts India in an unbeatable position.
He is like India's Gilchrist. And his style is so laid-back. One of my Favourites!

Fourth ball of the day. 0.4 Welegedara to Sehwag, 1 run, dropped, chasing a wide one, tries to play it through the covers, gets a thick edge as it moves away a hint, Prasanna Jayawardene dives full length to his right, can't reach it but there's Mahela Jayawardene at slip who spills it after the keeper blocks his view A straightforward chance but made more difficult by Prasanna's attempt. He certainly made them pay.

i have to agree that these wickets are too flat atm. but then again wickets are flat everywhere in the world including australia. its a shame when bowlers have no chance at all.

Wickets are getting flatter in Aust but at least we are still getting results. There have not been too many draws here in my memory

That is as much to do with Australia's dominance as it has been to do with pitches though. Take Johnson's 8-fer out of the equation last summer and that Perth test probably would have been a boring-as-pants draw, and Adelaide has been as flat as a pancake for a decade now. Brisbane and to a lesser extent Sydney are still top-quality but if Australia drops to mediocrity bowling-wise, the other venues could become pretty boring too.

i agree. i think there might be a few more draws now that the aussie side doesnt have as strong a bowling side as before.

10 of the last 11 Tests in Aust have produced a result with Aust actually losing 3 of those 10 result Tests (Versus South Africa, NZ, India and S/L). Maybe it's not so much Aust's dominance as it is Aust's mentality in chasing a result that gets results. P.S. Aust's bowling has already dropped to mediocre, re. Ashes. Voted as the worst performance by an Australia team in the past 12 months.
