Maybe we should start a new Broncos thread where we can actually, you know, talk about the Broncos?

anyone like the way how hook got stuck into the players about their defense on the weekend. i like it, especially singling out our front rowers. nothing like a bit of motivation to spur them on more. hannant and mcguire will definately take it in the strides and be pumped up this weekend.

I do like it, and am happy that he's kept everyone on his toes, but I am also apprehensive about him doing it consistently.

You can't hammer players every week, they will eventually feel that nothing they do will ever make them pleased. This might serve as motivation for some players to try and reach that unattainable goal, but other guys who are not as mentally tough (which would be a few of our squad considering their age) will become disheartened.

I am loving what McGuire and Hannant are doing for us up front at present. With Anderson off the bench, our frontrow rotation is very strong at present. I said this in another thread but cannot remember where, does anybody else see a lot of Steve Price in Josh McGuire? He just keeps on going, even when he seems to amble up to the line, he still keeps going through and often threatening to pop out the other side. I am also loving the ball-playing McGuire is slipping in more and more. Our attack is more and more varied every week.

Good points indeed but I have been surprised at the consistency our young squad has shown all year and Hook has so much respect from the players that I am sure he wouldn't do it if he thought it could have a detrimental effect on them. Plus, it is not going anywhere near as easy for us this week.

mcguire is just doing a good job just adding little bits to his game each week. anderson needs to pick up this week, i havent seen much of him in the past couple of weeks. needs to stamp his authority on the game when hannant and mcguire come off the field. to be quite honest next year, i wouldnt be to suprised to have petero coming of the bench for impact

Hannant needs to step up this week. He's been consistently outplayed by Mcguire for the majority of the season.

I think someone else said it in this thread and I agree - if Hannant isn't careful, he could be warming the bench next year - in some ways that'd be a really nice thought, the fact we could bench one of the best props in the game because our youngsters are performing better.

McGuire is currently playing the house down. Anderson is good coming off the bench after then sting is out of the game.

All the back rowers are excellent, moblie and strong. Love the Gillett fake pass to the right then to Locky on the left. Got the defence fooled. Ben pushing Taylor for his try against the Bunnies. Reed has the best attitude and solid in both attack and defence. can go on an on.

Bottom line is that the team is not a one man team but solid throughout its roster hence the spread of end of the season echolades for the individual players. Go Brisbane.

your right about that actually they have plenty of solid players across the park even after the star players like lockyer hodges thaiday parker hannant you have fringe players like yow yeh teo gillett glenn anderson wallace and then the guys that no body really expected to perform like beale reed hala mcguire mcullough theyre all in great form and should be hard to handle this weekend

That is because he is unfit. Hannant seriously needs to lose about 5 or 6kgs over the off-season!!

I thought I'd drop by and say g'day to my northern friends. G'day. On topic - I think the Bronco's will get flogged on Saturday night. Just saying.

Ahh, McGuire, like Yow Yeh, does a lot of "Threatening" to pop out the other side...classic.

"Hey, Matt Scott, If you tackle me I'll threaten to pop out the other side, so be careful...to you hear? I threatening to pop out....."

Love it Sproj. You should write to the stats guys at the NRL and see if they keep stats on "threats to pop out the other side" I'm confident with Yow Yeh and McGuire in the side, the Broncos would lead the league in that stat.
